We are looking for a Writer to support on all aspects of developing original content for Pearson, as part of the new Storytelling Team. You will be part of a dynamic editorial team that will discover and develop story ideas and pitch them to internal clients across the business; your stories will reach both internal and external audiences. Your beat will be everything Pearson. A sample week could include writing the story of a maverick elementary school principal in Texas who is bringing learning to life for her students; interviewing an adult learner in the United Kingdom who is changing his future by learning to read and write; working to deconstruct a product’s end benefit and writing copy that brings that product to life in a compelling and relevant way. You will work closely with Pearson stakeholders and business units across the world, including: Marketing, Product, Sales, Consumer Insights, and Social Impact.
Reporting to the Director, Brand Storytelling, you will be part of a storytelling team that creates meaningful content across channels and mediums to capture and breathe life into Pearson’s brand essence, whilst supporting our strategic goals and priorities.

Creates compelling content (written and digital)
Transforms high-level themes and raw consumer data into engaging stories and effective messaging
Works with Research and Insights team to use consumer, category, and cultural research to inform story ideas that are on-brand and aligned with our vision and goals.
Continually tracks the competitive landscape to ensure outside-in, holistic perspective
Works within and maintains brand identity standards across channels
Manages multiple constituents in a collaborative cross-functional environment and works closely with all teams within GCAM
Journalism or comparable degree preferable
Excellent writing skills, ability to communicate ideas clearly and concisely
Superior editing skills, whilst under time constraints, without compromising quality
Creative thinker willing to stretch and learn
Embraces a growth mindset and is innately curious
Experience working with consumer research and applying those insights to story development
Experience writing content for several mediums
Comfortable generating and managing editorial calendars
Strong interpersonal skills and enthusiastic team player
