Purpose of this Position

The Treasury and Insurance function manages global cash, debt and foreign exchange requirements for a FTSE100 listed £4bn turnover education group, as well as protecting key financial risks.

The team is well advanced in implementing leading edge automation and technology to minimise repetitious tasks and allow greater depth of analysis, while running a small, highly agile team.

During 2019, the team have won two awards – Highly Commended in the overall team of the year category at the Adam Smith Awards and Winner of the Eurofinance Treasury Management and Process Automation awards, recognition of the strong performance of the team.

The Treasury and Financial Risk Analyst’s role is to undertake day to day risk management activities. This involves:

  • Analysing cash positions, partnering with our businesses and shared service centres to understand new developments or risks to our near term forecast;

  • Executing foreign exchange conversion and short term borrowings;

  • Monitoring compliance with treasury principles and Sox controls;

  • Valuing foreign exchange and interest rate contracts;

  • Organising repatriation of cash from highly regulated countries.

The role also supports our insurance risks, involving collation of risk information on insurable risks, such as cyber attacks or property threats, working in conjunction with colleagues in the Internal Audit and Compliance teams.

On the job training will be provided, as well as support for treasury exams.

Strong mathematics and English skills are required.

A degree level qualification is preferred.

IT or project management experience and qualifications are also an asset.
