Pearson Standards Verifier - Self Regulated Framework - Hydrocarbon (Level 2) in London, United Kingdom
We are recruiting Standards Verifiers for the customised qualifications on Pearson's Self Regulated Framework within the Oil & Gas field, particularly in the South East Asia region. The SV will undertake sampling of assessment and internal verification decisions to confirm that centres are assessing to the required standard. They will support centres during the sampling process and direct centres in delivering customised qualifications to meet required standards. Please see below some of the units we are looking to recruit for, this is not a comprehensive list as we are currently delivering a number of Oil & Gas based qualifications.
Intermediate Certificate in Instrument & Process Control
Intermediate Certificate in Power and Water Plant Operation
Intermediate Certificate Hydrocarbon Gas Liquid Operation
Intermediate Certificate in Hydrocarbon Processing and Catalytic Reforming Operation
Intermediate Certificate in Rotating Equipment, Inspection and Maintenance
Candidates will be required to travel to South East Asia around twice a year for 2-3 days, expenses will be covered for all trips made. It is desirable that applicants have experience in delivering, assessing and quality assuring qualifications, and essential that candidates have an excellent working knowledge of the sector(s) that comprise the area of expertise for the role. You must also have the flexibility to understand and appreciate the individual needs and circumstances of our centres.
Responsibilities
Undertake sampling of learner work within defined parameters and rules to establish that assessment outcomes and internal verification processes meet national standards.
Provide sampling-related support and development to centres.
Produce reports for centres and Pearson on: the sampling undertaken, outcomes reached and support provided.
Apply appropriate sanctions where it is deemed that flawed assessment or internal verification decisions or processes mean that national standards are not met.
Produce targeted actions for centres to assist with remedial action where national standards are not being upheld.
Support centres to understand and implement identified actions.
Report back to Pearson and centres following SV activity as per service-level agreements.
Provide source materials for the standardisation of centre assessors, internal verifiers and lead internal verifiers as requested.
Carry out any other tasks assigned to you by Pearson.
Experience/qualifications needed
Experience of delivering and assessing Vocational qualifications (Eg, BTEC QCF, BTEC next generation, Higher Nationals, Work Based Learning etc).
A commitment to quality assurance.
Good working knowledge of the specifications for the subject area you will specialise in.
You will hold a minimum of one year’s full time teaching experience of the relevant subject and level.
For NVQ, you must have experience as a NVQ assessor and internal verifier and hold NVQ Assessor and Internal Verifier qualifications - D32/D33, A1/2 awards or equivalent, and D34, V1 or equivalent.
Competencies required
