About the Team

At Pearson, our mission is to partner with schools to deliver learner progression. All students from the age of 5 through to 18 , have their own individual learner journeys. Alongside their teachers, Pearson can help them make the progression most appropriate to them, whether onto Further or Higher Education onto Apprenticeships or directly into work. Through a consultative, collaborative sales approach we support our school customers with the right choice of products and services for their learners. This role is to manage a defined group of customer accounts to deliver business/revenue growth of our Learning Resources.

Where the market also has a need for qualifications, the Senior Partnership Manager would look to grow this opportunity with the support of internal stakeholders team. These accounts will be based on single schools together with any Group of Schools such as Local Authorities, Chains, Dioceses, Federations, Teaching Alliances and other large organised consortia of schools across the ​5-18 age range​. Working with colleagues in the internal sales teams the Senior Partnership Manager will lead on sales plans delivering customer value, learner progression and business/revenue growth.

Main Accountabilities

  • Engages with Senior Leadership Team and key stakeholders to maximise opportunities for funded services within Schools market.

  • Helps drive learner progression by supporting stakeholders responsible for curriculum decisions on digital solutions, printed products, services and qualifications where appropriate.

  • Sales and growth targets are met and exceeded, surpassing territory market penetration and retention targets.

  • Demonstrate the Pearson Sales model in line with best practice.

  • Implements our digital sales and customer engagement strategy.

  • Embeds efficacy, standards and learner-centric cultures within their own behaviour.

  • Takes ownership of termly plan and ensures delivery against the plan through regular reviews and amendments where appropriate and in liaison with their Regional Sales Manager.

  • Shows collaboration with internal stakeholders (Curriculum Managers, Internal Sales and Customer Success colleagues)

  • Attends key exhibitions, local exhibitions, networks, clusters, and product launch events in line business need.

  • Achievement of Annual goals and Termly KPIs

  • Uses Salesforce CRM system as specified.

  • Operates safely in the workplace without endangering self or others

  • Takes ownership of own development needs and discusses with Regional Sales Manager

  • Embraces change in a dynamic market and understand the need to grow and develop in the role.

  • Is digitally literate and makes effective use of spreadsheets, Salesforce CRM and other sales enablement tools.

  • Has good numeracy skills, being able to understand and create sales plans, work with Salesforce CRM and sales reports and forecasts.

Qualifications

Required Skills & Role Qualifications

  • Level 2 Qualifications or higher equivalent including Maths and English

  • Proven track record of sales desired in a b2b environment

  • Previous knowledge of schools and education desirable

  • Digital skills including familiarity with Office products and mobile technologies.

  • Full UK Driving Licence

Role location: This is a field based/ remote working position with some requirement to attend a Pearson office location ad-hoc due to business need.

Start date: This is a permanent role to commence December 2020. The role will operate within a term time contract with flexibility to work 195 or 205 days per year.
