Summary of Role:

Our Strategic Communications Managers provide support for Pearson’s corporate and financial communications, which includes broad communications about our strategy, transformation, and all global employee communications. We work directly with executive-level leaders across the organization and manage the day-to-day operations of the Global Corporate Affairs & Marketing function.

Responsibilities:

  • Help plan, manage, and deliver on plans and priorities, including company-wide comms campaigns and events, working with business partners and onsite leads around the world

  • Collaborate and support on communications planning for c-level executive leaders, including advising on key themes

  • Draft content – blogs, talking points, speeches, and presentations, etc.

  • Create videos as needed, including scripting, finding a vendor, managing transcripts and translations

  • Advise and support on sensitive communications planning (e.g. restructures, new appointments, M&A, etc.)

  • Support executive leaders as needed for internal and external events, advising on schedule, travel logistics, conference and speaking invitations, etc.

  • Lead on briefs, collaborating with subject matter experts, in-market teams, and executive team

  • Provide research, such as pulling background information, liaising with c-level executives, and preparing summaries

  • Mentor and oversee work for more junior members of the team

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Experience in communications, marketing, or a related area

  • Educated to degree level

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal

  • Significant experience in copywriting, copyediting, and delivering internal or external campaigns

  • Good organizational, planning, and logistical skills, able to manage a variety of projects and tasks at the same time

  • Able to manage highly sensitive and confidential information

  • Able to lead and manage complex projects

  • Strong interpersonal skills and a good sense of humor

  • Digitally savvy and able to use data and insights to drive decision making

  • Able to travel to other Pearson locations as required

  • Passionate about helping people make progress in their lives through learning
