About a Python Application Security Developer

Break it, then rebuild it. The Python Application Security Specialist will design, implement and develop automation features into Pearson existing Security Pipeline. Working to ingrate with existing and new applications including Mircoservices and building out new API’S.

You will be working with some of the latest automated application security tools Including AppSpider, Checkmark, Qualys, and Nessus. The AppSec team works along beside a large security team and various project teams, you will be providing expert advice for Security Analysts and DevOps specialists during application security assessments.

Who we’re looking for

We are looking a needle in a haystack of needles. Someone who love to code, who breaks things for sole purpose of building a better version of it. Therefore fluent Python is a must for us, and ideally and expert with Django. If you’re doing a bit of Golang on the side that’s great, but it’s just a nice to have for us.

That just one side of the coin, on the other we’re looking for Application Security, someone who is familiar with the development of applications in agile environment. Who is familiar with OWASP and The Application Security Verification standard (ASVS) and how it applies to AppSec Team. If you got experience of Cloud technology such as AWS, Azure or Rackspace as well that would be a bonus for us.



  • None required

  • Prefer CISSP

  • Prefer SANS (Web App Attack / Defense courses)

  • Prefer Offensive Security Certified Professional


  • BS preferred but not required

  • 5 years application security experience

  • 5 years development experience
