Working in partnership with universities across the country, the division provides online learning services including marketing, student recruitment, course content development, training and ongoing student support.

Summary of role

The Project Manager is the primary point of contact for overseeing and enabling new programme launches and ensuring services frameworks are in place to deliver long term programme success. To achieve this, the Project Manager is responsible for developing comprehensive launch plans and holding all service providers responsible for delivering their contributions to a high standard, on time and to budget.

The Project Manager will also be responsible for the delivery of all programme documentation and will contribute as an author to certain documents. To ensure successful alignment with the university partner, the Project Manager will establish appropriate relationships with university stakeholders and communication and change controls to effectively progress all tasks. To ensure that programme portfolio growth is maintained, the Project Manager is responsible for the management of the full programme of launches across a long term launch schedule requiring the coordination and management of multiple streams of activity necessary to continually launch new programmes over the course of a year and to optimise business processes to enable accelerated and increased numbers of launches over time. Management of the launch programme requires continued collaboration with each functional team across University Partnerships to provide insight and leadership on improved practice for ongoing launch activities.

In addition to local launch activity, the Project Manager will interact with other staff in the Commercial Operations line of business to continually assess best practice for operational activities and work to improve consistency and scale of delivery across Pearson's business globally.

Key responsibilities of the role

● Develop and manage the launch and long term delivery of each programme to support ongoing pipeline development and the alignment of resources needed to support continued programme portfolio growth.

● Development and management of programme launch and delivery plans.

● On-time launch of all selected OPM offerings

● Coordination and facilitation of weekly programme operational meetings.

● Coordination, development, and distribution of programme documentation including programme viability documents and programme prospectus.

● Schedule, coordinate, and run launch briefings in partnership with the Heads of Partnership and university partner stakeholders

● Act as primary point of contact for leadership and coordination of all launch activities to both Pearson and University stakeholders.

● Develop and manage relationships with University Project/Operations manager assigned to manage new programme launches.

● Continue to develop and refine launch processes, approach, frameworks and documentation as best practices are discovered.

● Develop process for and execute launch to BAU handover for other areas of operational excellence.

Person Requirements

● Formal Project Management training or professional qualification/certification ● Experience working in the higher education industry managing university stakeholder relationships

● Proficiency working with varied software for project management tasks, document creation, and presentation development and delivery with a strong ability to adapt to new systems and tools as required.

● Demonstrated ability in previous roles to manage complex projects and delivery of business outcomes through strong organisational influence and leadership abilities.

● Must have excellent organisational skills and be detail oriented

● Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with diverse groups, executives, managers and subject matter experts
