Pearson Global Process Owner Accounts Receivable in London, United Kingdom

Global Process Owner Accounts Receivable

At Pearson, we’re committed to a world that’s always learning and to our talented team who makes it all possible. From bringing lectures vividly to life to turning textbooks into laptop lessons, we are always re-examining the way people learn best, whether it’s one child in our own backyard or an education community across the globe. We are bold thinkers and standout innovators who motivate each other to explore new frontiers in an environment that supports and inspires us to always be better. By pushing the boundaries of technology — and each other to surpass these boundaries — we create seeds of learning that become the catalyst for the world’s innovations, personal and global, large and small.

Pearson is currently in the middle of The Enabling Program (TEP), which is a global Finance and HR transformation program seeking to streamline Pearson operations across the entire business. A key role in this program is the Global Capability Lead. This role is responsible for defining and maintaining the overall global design as the new solution is implemented in each country and for owning the end to end process design into bau. The process sits across three delivery areas: Business; Captive Shared Services and BPO provider and experience of working in this type of multi level environment would be an advantage as would previous experience of working within a global ERP roll-out, preferably Oracle.

Role Overview & Purpose

The Accounts Receivable (AR) Global Capability Lead (GCL) will own all aspects of the global design for TEP and going forward into business as usual. The AR GCL will work with the business to understand their requirements and will draw on best practices to continually review and improve the AR process. It is important that the GCL is recognised as an internal expert in the AR field and in due course should also look to present at external conferences to showcase Pearson expertise as well. The GCL needs to have strong influencing skills to ensure that solutions are accepted and adopted by the wider business.

The GCL will take a critical view of the current processes and designs and prioritise where enhancements and development time should be spent. The feasibility of new requirements will be measured against cost effectiveness, robustness and scalability and documented accordingly. The role holder will work through cost benefits and acceptance criteria. The GCL will be accountable for creating a schedule of improvement initiatives, quantifying the contribution those initiatives will make towards the Oak project and then is accountable for delivery against those initiatives.

The GCL will report to the VP GCL Finance Operations and will work closely with other GCL’s both inside and outside Finance operations to ensure that process design is consistent across all processes which touch AR. The GCL should also work closely with the wider Business understanding business challenges and deriving process improvements to address those issues. Specifically the GCL AR will work closely with the GCL Order Management to ensure an effective end to end process design and solution. This is a global role and the preferred candidate should have demonstrated experience of working in a multinational environment. Knowledge of and previous experience with Oracle would be a benefit. The candidate should have strong interpersonal skills and be capable of influencing and working with senior stakeholders as well as their peer group.

The role will be based either in Pearson’s London office or New Jersey office with some travel to other Pearson locations and globally dependent on business need.
