Role Summary

Responsible for leading all activities related to Customer services and Legal providing financial support to the General Counsel and Chief Legal Officer as well as the SVP, Customer services and their leadership teams.

The Finance business partner for customer services and legal is responsible for acting as Business Partners driving strategy, planning and overall financial performance. This position will partner with both the customer services and Legal leadership to understand the current dynamics in relevant parts of the cost structure, compare to market trends / benchmarks and optimise investment opportunities. Within Finance this role plays an active role in designing and implementing finance strategy.

Directly responsible for a cost base of approx. £70M representing the operational costs for Customer services and Legal

Financial Analysis

  • Provides analysis to support decision-making, including presenting economic outcomes, identifying the key value drivers, benefits, sensitivities and risks, accounting and fiscal implications.

  • Communicates financial results to PEM and/or SLG members and their leadership teams.

  • Assesses cutting-edge developments in quantitative analysis and incorporate relevant developments into the organization’s methodologies. Sets standards for business analysis to support strategic direction and comparison.

  • Has experience working with multiple business models.

Investment Analysis & Allocation

  • Understands the strategic nature of particular assets in the creation of long-term value and assures the optimal individual and team contributions for business value.

  • Valuation of investment proposals for a business unit or functional area.

  • Communicates investment analysis criteria to non-finance professionals in a clear and concise manner to support decision making in resource that drives revenue growth.

Cost Management

  • Applies various techniques such as target costing, value analysis, life cycle and discuss implications.

  • Prepares analysis and reports that enable the business management to effectively challenge costs and inform decision-making.

  • Participates in waste elimination efforts with the business to understand key drivers and cost reduction opportunities.

Qualifications and Experience

  • 5 years in a finance manager role.

  • Fluent English speaker

  • Deep accounting knowledge

  • Experience working in a multi-national matrix organization

  • Strong understanding of materiality and ability to prioritize across competing agendas

  • Ability to conduct investment analysis and capital asset evaluation

  • Ability to identify business risks and implementation of tactics to mitigate

  • Awareness of multiple business models and experience of working with more than one

  • Proven capability to develop and lead high performance diverse teams

  • Understand the principles of change management and demonstrated ability to champion and drive change.

  • Experience of supporting Operations teams (preferred but not required)
