We seek an experienced Product Management Director to join a highly collaborative and dynamic global team focused on learner led product management, Services development, launching and/or scaling innovations into multiple markets; to help provide Geos with differentiated products faster and cheaper, aligned to Pearson strategy.

The Product Management Director will work closely to manage the lifecycle of products in the New Products and Solutions portfolio, creating new product solutions, terminating non-sustainable products and embedding pedagogical capabilities within products to ensure an optimal mix that addresses evolving segment needs & opportunities. The role reports to the VP, New Products & Solutions.

Global collaboration, partnership and active stakeholder management are foundational to success in this role. Thriving in an evolving environment, driving innovation and continuous improvement for efficiency and sustainable growth is key.

High-Level Responsibilities:

●Drive focussed innovation in collaboration with Pearson geographies and across business units to develop new products and solutions in order to meet strategic business objectives.

●Develop and launch a global product and/or services innovation into relevant markets across Pearson to create new revenue opportunities.

●Develop relationships, processes and ways of working that facilitate the integration of global and local product development teams so that resources can be used to benefit Pearson globally, wherever they are located.

●Lead product and cross-functional business teams to develop a standardised approach to product development and content co-creation that drives efficiency, speed and cost reduction. (eg Building Together)

●Identify and develop global product and/or capabilities aligned to Pearson frameworks that support the product development process and can be applied across multiple product models across Pearson to drive improved learning outcomes, speed to market, customer experience quality and margin( eg Dynamic Classroom, Global Math Learning Progression).

●Provide programme management & delivery expertise to help drive the successful implementation of global products and capabilities into core and growth markets (eg Professional Development, GMLP, Dynamic Classroom).

●Identify opportunities for collaboration across E&GS product management and Centres of Excellence in pursuit of opportunities for reusing existing assets and capabilities, and sharing insights and market knowledge( eg Building Together).

●Be accountable for the end-to-end customer experience of products, including implementation in the Geo and classroom/ institution.

●Utilise digital experience and analytics to create new products & solution strategy that identifies which customers, and will lead to commercial and learner success if successful.

●Monitor the operational performance, impact on learning, and commercial performance of your products and drive continuous improvement to optimize customer experience and impact on learner, and commercial outcomes.

●Act as an ambassador for Pearson products, generating excitement and enthusiasm internally and externally.

●Promote a culture of partnership, teamwork and innovation and develop motivated, inspired, and enthusiastic cross-functional product delivery teams.

●Prioritise the development of team members (peers and/or direct reports) to create a strong product management talent pipeline.

Qualifications - Key Requirements

●An Honors Degree in education and an appropriate product management qualification.

●Extensive product management and product development experience at Director level, including experience of developing and managing digital products

●Strong understanding of educational pedagogy, needed to underpin successful product development

●Proven track record of working with cross-functional global teams in different Pearson geographies to bring products to life

●Strong understanding of education and learning from a consumer viewpoint: the ability to translate this into winning product management strategies that drive value for customers and learners

●.Proven track record of excellent collaborative and networking skills.

●Great insight into the needs of different markets and the opportunities within them, the capability to build product strategies that serve multiple markets at once

●Deep comprehension of the digital world and ability to translate this into product strategies, team mindset and ways of working

●High competence to balance strategic thinking/long term opportunities with a focus on operational delivery.

●Able to maintain ruthless prioritisation that blocks extraneous items from the product roadmap, ensuring that the product stays on track to achieve its strategic objectives.

●Strong delegation skills. Ability to communicate objectives to constituent teams, delegate assignments/deliverables appropriately and trust teams to deliver.

●Preferably experienced in agile product management methodologies as both a participant and leader
