Title : Product Manager, PTE, English Language Learning
Location: UK (London) – can be home & office based, but regular attendance to the London office is expected
Summary
We are looking for a dynamic Product Manager to join our successful high stakes Product Team. Acting as the focal point between the customer, sales and marketing and development, you will understand the needs of our different customer personas and work closely with our developers to clearly and efficiently turn those needs into new functions or features to be built. You will also partner with regional teams to shape commercial strategy and lead the roadmap and delivery for a series of products within the Pearson Test of English (PTE) high stakes test portfolio, aimed at both B2B and D2C personas.
Ideally you will have a keen understanding of the high stakes English test market, competitive landscape and customer needs, but it is far more important that you enjoy breaking down the problem to be solved and understanding and articulating that to lead and energise a development team to deliver value to our customers.

Objectives of this role
Support the Senior Product Manager and Director, Product Management to craft a product roadmap (short- and long-term) and convert it to concrete strategy
Drive strategies and long-term vision to build best-in-class digital products
Conduct user research and usability studies, collaborating with designers, developers, and research teams throughout the process
Lead market research, customer validation and competitor analysis to identify opportunities for new or existing features and functionalities
Partner with business development, sales and operational teams to build roadmaps that will be reflected in the company's broader portfolio planning
Develop and implement pipelines that extract, transform, and load data into an information product
Responsibilities
Partner with Technology to manage roadmap and backlog for all digital applications, ensuring that development team delivers capabilities on time and per expectation
Oversee requirements discovery, solution design, user story writing, feature development, and user acceptance testing
Partner with executive team to identify key capabilities needed as well as potential issues
Partner regularly with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on feature development and prioritization
Work with product marketing to develop positioning and messaging and ensure differentiation from competitors
Monitor and evaluate product performance to facilitate continuous iteration and improvement
Required Skills and qualifications
Five to seven years of experience in digital product management or similar role
Strong analytical, prioritization, and negotiating skills
Experience in usability and customer-focused design
Passion for building great products to solve customer and business problems
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
