Purpose

Content Curation Specialists are responsible for the ongoing management and maintenance of the content developed in support of Pearson’s ELT (English Language Teaching) and targeted subjects within the Schools Portfolio.

Content Curation Specialists will be responsible for applying curation standards to new and existing content, alongside all tasks connected with maintaining content within existing published products by coordinating the reprint corrections process.

Align and curate existing and original content:

  • manage the alignment / conversion of existing content to defined curation standards, including managing quality, budget and schedule of conversion activities

  • support Content Developers in ensuring that new content is commissioned to defined standards to support content curation

  • manage library of curated content for use in new products & services

  • support Content Developers in locating and using curated content to support and enhance original content

  • support Content Curation Manager in content-related data management activities, such as :

  • performing and troubleshooting the ingestion of new data to support portfolio users

  • supporting the activities of internal and external subject matter experts to perform content alignments and run reports

Post-publication content maintenance (reprint coordination):

  • make decisions and resolve content-related issues raised by end-users and sales reps for all published products

  • coordinate corrections staff to implement corrections to

  • forecast time and resources necessary for tasks to feed into the scheduling and budgeting process

  • establish and manage effective working relationships with all key business partners in multiple locations (see “Key Relationships” below).

Supervisory responsibilities:

For freelancers and team members, give feedback on any recurring issues related to content

Portfolio Managers, Content Developers, Content Producers, Corrections Managers, Manufacturing Controllers

Qualifications

Qualifications:

University/College degree

Experience/Skills/Knowledge:

  • Experience of workflows within a dynamic, print and digital publishing environment.

  • Experience in working with content for English or foreign language teaching a plus.

  • Experience using content management systems and structured authoring tools a plus

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to navigate a complex international organization effectively

  • Possesses sound business acumen; remains pragmatic, calm under pressure; results-focused
