The Audit and Quality department supports the awarding body function of the business, responsible for ensuring that processes are driven by continual improvement, meet the needs of our customers, achieve our business goals and comply with Pearson and regulatory requirements, in line with our business certifications. We help maintain this through the delivery of an annual audit programme and the implementation of our Quality and Information Security management systems and various business improvement initiatives to support this.
You will support the Audit and Quality team in ensuring compliance with internal procedures, regulatory requirements and external business standards such as ISO9001 (Quality Management), ISO27001 (Information Security) and ISO22301 (Business Continuity). You will do this by completing all aspects (such as planning, execution and reporting) of assigned process audits in accordance with our audit processes. Audits will be carried out against ISO standards and other relevant regulations. Audits will promote the drive for continual improvement throughout the business.
This role is a 14-month fixed term contract covering maternity leave. It is ideal for someone with experience of working with ISO standards or in a quality assurance role who would like to develop their audit skills. You will need to have exemplary analytical and communication skills and be confident in dealing with colleagues at all levels across the business.
Deliver, either solo or in a team, high quality, commercially focussed audits and advisory reviews that meet business needs/requirements within agreed timescales
Recommend and promote practical and cost-effective actions for improving business processes and support the successful completion of action plans
Assist in the development and implementation of processes, policies and procedures as a result of reviews of current business practices
Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing with internal and external colleagues, customers and senior managers
Provide high-quality support on specific projects, including Management Review

Good attention to detail and accuracy when analysing information and reporting on audit findings
Experience of working in a quality assurance type role
Exemplary analytical and communication skills
Experience of writing briefings, proposals, reports and business correspondence
Excellent organisational and planning skills and be able to multitask in a fast paced environment
Able to analyse complex aguments
Knowledge and experience of auditing against ISO standards including ISO9001, ISO27001, ISO22301 or equivalent audit experience
Regulatory background, and understanding of vocational and/or general qualifications
14 month FTC
Role based in central London at 80 Strand near the tube network
