This position reports to the Director of School Accountability. The individual will have two main areas of responsibility. The first is to be the operational owner of Benchmark Assessments (80% of the job). The second is to assist the Director of School Accountability in helping schools understand and improve performance on state accountability frameworks (20% of the job). The position will require:
Key Capabilities
Knowledge of how benchmark assessment data can be used to inform instruction
Knowledge of how interventions and supplemental curriculum can be utilized to improve academic results
Understanding of key measures associated with normative and criterion-based benchmark assessments.
Proficient with data management and basic Excel functionality. Works well in a matrix organization structure. Models collaboration, solves problems with peers, builds trust and support.

Responsibilities
Operational Owner of Benchmarks
Support the Director of Schools and School Leaders in the conducting of benchmark assessments throughout the school year (currently pre-test, mid-test, and post-test)
Work closely with the Curriculum Team in determining which benchmark assessments and associated interventions/supplemental curriculum will be used by schools.
Support Director of Schools and School Leaders with understanding the data provided by the benchmark assessments. Work with vendors of benchmarks assessments to evaluate training requirements and training needs at the schools and supplement training as needed.
Support the Instructional Leadership Consulting Team with information about the benchmark assessment results so they can work effectively with schools on making instructional improvements
Work with the Curriculum Team and vendors to establish appropriate configurations of the benchmark assessments that will facilitate the management of data at the OBL level as well as at the school level.
Gather and import data into appropriate systems related to schools and student participation and performance so that the data can be used for report, research, and analysis tasks
Provide reporting related to participation and performance to relevant stakeholders
Work with the Efficacy & Research Team as necessary for more sophisticated data analysis related to Benchmark Assessments
Assisting the Director of Student Accountability
Help the director in researching and documenting state accountability frameworks in states with partner schools, including the tracking of changes to the accountability systems over time
Assist the Director in explaining to schools how their state accountability systems work and how they can make improvements in performance
Assist in analyzing school performance on state accountability frameworks
Work with schools in researching sources of data provided by the state department of education related to the performance on state accountability frameworks that can be utilized for data analysis in order to improve performance
Work with schools and other OBL teams such as state reporting that are responsible for submitted data to the state department of education to make sure data submission doesn’t inadvertently have a negative impact on state accountability systems
Assist schools in being aware of data review cycles so that when possible corrections are made to state department of education data related to state accountability systems

Qualifications
3-5 years proven leadership experience
Advanced degree in Education or degree in other relevant area
Strong technology, data visualization, and data analysis skills capable of using Excel and PowerBI, Tableau or other data visualization software.
Flexible, can complete multiple tasks/projects at the same time
Innovative
Strong communications skills
Data-driven and results-focused
Ability to travel frequently
The anticipated starting salary range for Colorado-based individuals expressing interest in this position is $75,000-$110,000. This position is eligible to participate in an annual incentive program.
