The Senior Accessibility Project Manager will define the processes and workflows for the Accessibility Team related to supporting the access needs of learners with disabilities. The person in this role will communicate with internal teams and clients about the capabilities and limitations of the technology tools that support learners with disabilities and provide guidance on the approaches for creating accessible assessments and assessment related materials. Additionally, the Senior Accessibility Project Manager will address accessibility related requirements in requests for proposals and collaborate with Pearson Sales, Contract Management, and Content Development teams to support the successful fulfillment of contract scope related to accessibility and accommodations. Major Responsibilities
Participate in process engineering and process mapping activities for creation and publication of accessible content. Interact with quality management teams to address gaps in processes related to accessibility.
Interpret accessibility guidelines and standards.
Advise on style requirements for creating accessible content, including managing the creation of documented alternative text guidelines for images.
Create and maintain thorough documentation on the current accessibility capabilities of Pearson’s assessment products and services.
Gather and document requirements related to the production of high-quality accessible assessment content and associated materials.
Analyze accessibility and accommodations policy trends and synthesize this information for internal Pearson staff and clients.
Develop and deliver accessibility related training and documentation.
Identify and mitigate risks related to the delivery of accessible products and services.
Support multiple complex projects simultaneously.
Partner with Contract Management teams and Product teams to create project plans and schedules for delivery of accessible content.
Serve as a subject matter expert on capabilities of online assessment products and how built-in accessibility features and third-party assistive technologies can be used to support the needs of learners with disabilities.
Work with content development teams and test development teams to address accessibility concerns related to content development and assessment development.
Participate in project planning discussions related to the production of accessible products and materials.
Collaborate with contractors and vendors to manage scope of work.

Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in education or a related field, or equivalent experience in the field of education or assessment Certification(s) or Required Training
Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies (CPACC) obtained through the International Association of Accessibility Professionals (IAAP) or the ability to obtain this certification within 1 year Experience
5 years of experience managing multiple projects required.
Experience in the field of accessibility, education administration, or assessments preferred.
Special Knowledge and Skills
Functional knowledge of disability categories and the accessible materials and assistive technologies designed to support people with diverse needs
Understanding of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG)
Understanding of the principles of universal design and universal design for learning
Understanding of the assessment industry a plus.
Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies quickly
Exemplary written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work remotely
