Pearson’s Global Product Marketing team is seeking an experienced leader to join a highly collaborative and fast-moving team dedicated to marketing next-gen Pearson products and platforms as the Product Marketing Manager for our new Pearson Career Course portfolio. In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to gather customer insights and inform the development of global solutions/capabilities for professional skills products featuring experiential learning and mentoring capabilities. You will be responsible for serving as the voice of the customer/learner to Product Management/Technical teams, as well as coordinating launch activities to market platform features/capabilities/innovations across all segments and/or geographies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Employ modern marketing techniques including empirical evidence, demographic trends and quantitative tools to evaluate market opportunities, develop compelling value proposition/messaging, and enable adoption.

  • Partner with UX and Product teams to:

  • Gather, synthesize, and share market and customer insights to fuel innovation.

  • Define product audience and develop personae to inform product development and campaign strategy.

  • Develop product attributes into value propositions, marketing messages, as well as sales training and support material for addressable markets.

  • Conduct comparative analyses of internal and competitive offerings in order to better position our products and campaigns.

  • Develop and manage the execution of a global product marketing plan with well-defined success metrics, in collaboration with Creative, B2B, and B2C Marketing.

  • Develop marketing content and core brand assets (e.g. web content, videos, customer testimonials) for use by sales and marketing, ensuring brand fidelity across all channels and geographies.

  • Manage market development programs (advisory councils, focus groups, etc.) to elicit customer requirements, demonstrate effectiveness of the product, and identify sales opportunities.

  • Establish product priorities with the marketing teams in key geographies and provide product training to ensure successful local marketing and sales efforts.

  • Develop brand identity in collaboration with GCAM and product stakeholders, ensuring fidelity across customer journey from marketing and to in-product experience.

  • Collaborate with leadership of Product Management, internal stakeholders in Global Product, and geography marketing to deliver global marketing plans for products and/or disciplines.

  • Act as an ambassador for Pearson products, generating excitement and enthusiasm internally and externally.

  • Travel as needed to conferences, events, and campuses within the US to inform market knowledge, product and campaign strategy, as well as to contribute to increases in revenue and digital registrations.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5-7 years product marketing and/or product management experience (Skill-based Learning / Professional Development industry preferred)

  • Successful experience in the development and execution of marketing plans

  • Track record of successful product and release launches

  • Familiarity with product and program marketing

  • Experience with marketing communications

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal stakeholders, vendors, agencies, authors and customers

  • Strong capacity for storytelling, including exceptional writing and presentation skills.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent

  • Ability to travel as needed for internal and customer events

  • Demonstrated ability to execute successful services marketing and sales strategies

  • First class leadership skills; able to inspire and motivate teams around a continuously evolving agenda designed to delight our customers

  • Ability to balance strategic thinking/long term opportunities with operational focus

  • Strong learner/educator empathy and ability to translate customer insights into winning marketing strategies

  • Passion for education and learning

  • Possesses a global outlook and approach

  • Operates as a self-aware, effective team player
