Senior Platform Engineering Manager (US)

Reporting to the Director of Engineering, Platform and Integrations (Australia). You will work closely with various Faethm teams to solve platform challenges with automated, scalable, robust, and secure solutions.

As a Platform Engineer Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Ideally located in Pacific Time or happy to work similar hours to build a global Platform Engineering team in collaboration with the existing team in the Australian Eastern Time zone

  • Remote first, and async when possible (we <3 slack)

  • Join the global Platform Engineering leadership, which includes your direct manager and counterpart in Australia.

  • Proven ability to manage a remote team, initially including up to 7 direct reports, including cloud engineers, data systems engineers, security engineers.

  • Demonstrated ability to upskill existing team members on our core cloud stack technologies.

  • Demonstrated ability to hire and build a collaborative and proficient technical team.

To be successful in this role, you'll ideally have:

  • 8+ years of experience in software engineering, 2+ in engineering management

  • Hands-on technical expertise with Kubernetes, AWS, Terraform, and an ability to design solutions on these technologies.

  • Excited about the opportunity to build on our Kubernetes platform initially with the migration of an existing cloud application to our stack.

Bonus points (Optional):

  • Experience in Heroku, Ruby on Rails, which will support the initial migration.

  • Experience with Jira, scrum (2-week sprint cadence)

  • Experience with GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, Argo Workflows

Compensation at Pearson is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific location. As required by the Colorado, California, Washington State, and New York City laws, the pay range for this position is as follows:

Minimum full-time salary range is between $175,000 - $185,000.
