The Senior Manager, Digital Platforms reporting to the VP of High Stakes Portfolio, English Assessment will support digital product maintenance across English Assessment (EA) platforms covering everything from the front-end web platform to back end services that drive the platform and applications for the EA business. This individual will be responsible for core maintenance of live applications and work closely with teams across Product Management, Marketing, Technology, Pearson VUE and Support & Operations. The role will be responsible for maintaining and supporting mission-critical digital applications as necessary.
Responsibilities
Responsible for overall stability and resilience of the PTE digital experience, with particular focus on the interfaces between technologies and with clear RACI across technology teams.
Implement and run monitoring and coordinate critical incident response as needed, working closely with marketing, communications and customer services teams
Collaborate closely with Pearson delivery teams (VUE, School Assessment/ ATE, CIO), sharing performance metrics, SLAs etc
Maintain a complete view of technical architecture and data flows across delivery of PTE portfolio
Coordinate effective release and testing cycles with technology and product development
Actively look for opportunities to increase efficiency, drive resilience and incorporate technical development/advances into our underlying architecture and scoring workflows

Qualifications
Qualifications & Essential Skills
Bachelor degree or relevant experience in Computer Science, MIS, or equivalent technology discipline
Relevant software architecture experience including application maintenance
Current technology stack: Java, Web Services (REST/SOAP), Angular, AWS
Experience in failure mode effective analysis
Knowledge of interoperability and system-to-system communication via APIs
Knowledge of application security and data security (especially regarding customer data)
Knowledge of principles of eCommerce and prevalent technologies
Quickly learn new processes and tools, business domains and technical applications
Able to think technically and analytically
Must have strong time management skills - including ability to work well under pressure, plan, set priorities, adapt to change, and meet established timelines
Experience with some or all of the following tools is considered a bonus:
React, JSF, MongoDB, Headless CMS, SQL, .NET, Radware, Splunk, NewRelic
Knowledge and remediation experience of common OWASP security risks such as SQL injection, XSS, DDoS, CSRF, XEE
