We’ve implemented single core platforms (ERP, CRM etc.) across our largest markets (North America & the UK) while also moving to a Global Business Services model across our Enabling Functions (Operations, Finance, HR, IT etc.)
In mid-2019 we setup Global Process Owners to ensure that the standard processes being deployed are owned and governed by process owners who are fully empowered to improve and evolve the process they are responsible for. Our initial focus was to fully support the embedding of all the systems and operational changes we had recently implemented.
We are now looking to embark on the next stage of our transformation focusing on process harmonisation and optimisation to deliver significant improvements in the productivity, efficiency, and effectiveness of our processes by leveraging leading-edge process design and technology.
Role Overview & Purpose
As a Process Consultant, you will form strategic partnerships with Process Owners and key business stakeholders to drive improvement, simplification and innovation across our end-to-end process landscape that will enable the realisation of additional value from the investments we have made in our people, processes and technology. Key responsibilities include:
Driving the implementation and adoption of the group’s process architecture (e.g. Process/Capability Framework, Nomenclature, Conventions, Hierarchy etc.)
Providing training and coaching on the application of our process standards
Supporting process diagnostic/design efforts and providing thought leadership and technical expertise (e.g. to develop new process designs that improve efficiency, standardisation, quality)
Supporting Global Process Owners in aligning projects with business objectives and strategy
Evaluating, scoping and leading process improvement initiatives
Supporting the assessment, selection and application of new technologies, and innovative methods, models and tools
Providing Process Analysts with guidance, support and technical expertise
Identifying process performance measures and metrics and working with Global Process Owners to implement them
Performing process benchmarking exercises, utilising internal and external reference sources where appropriate
Applying appropriate analytical techniques (e.g. ANOVA, Run/Control Charts, Central Limit Theorem) to diagnose process performance issues
The process consultant work is focused on the future operations of our business processes, creating business value through process optimisation or future strategy across our key business units and capability areas.
Over the next few years we have a leading role to play in the transformation efforts of both our current processes but also in terms of helping our business to adapt and grow in a fast-paced changing environment.
You will be expected to partner with process owners, business and operations teams as well as technology solutions leads to deliver improved organisational performance through deployment of leading edge operational and digital practices whilst delivering major cost efficiencies and growth in the process. Our process consultant will form part of our global process team acting as a subject matter expert in process analysis, management and design. Qualifications
Business process management qualification e.g. Green belt or higher Lean Six Sigma
Experience using generic/industry models and architectures e.g. ACCORD, APQC, IAA, IFW, SCOR)
Strong process, value stream and customer journey mapping skills with good knowledge of BPMN 2.0 standards
Experience in using process modelling/mapping applications e.g. Blueworks, Aris, Adonis, Visio significant experience in an Process leadership, or transformation role either with a respected consulting practice, or as part of a process transformation team in a multinational business
Advanced analytical abilities including the calculation of standard deviation, upper and lower control limits and use of run and control charts to analyse and monitor process performance
Comprehensive understanding of principles and application of Lean methodology including 7 wastes, Takt Time, Levelled Scheduling, Poke Yoke, Kanban Systems, 5S
Project management qualification desirable, but not essential e.g. PMP, Prince2
Proven track record of leading process optimisation initiatives which have delivered significant benefits.
Proven track record of strong time management skills and the ability to manage multiple deliverables at one time
Experience throughout the design and deployment journey including operating model and lean process design, project definition and delivery and change management.
Knowledge of Oracle ERP and Business Intelligence applications preferred, but not essential as long as there is demonstrated experience in large scale ERP and BI applications.

Process Management and Process Excellence Expertise: Is a champion, proponent and knowledge house for business process management, understands process data, diagnostics, methods, tools, definition and charting. Has tangible experience in process levers, lean drivers, improvement models and alternative delivery practices including agile process design, process innovation methods, Lean tools, 5S, Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen (PDCA Cycle), Six Sigma Tools, DMAIC, DMADV, SIPOC Analysis, Process Maps / Process Flowcharts and able to show application in real life examples.
Curiosity: shows corporate, sector, capability and input driver curiosity to use data science to shape opinion and influence action.
Project Management & Delivery: Working with both Agile and Waterfall delivery approaches to provide sustained results leading team. Skilled in PPM or equivalent methods, able to create work breakdown structure, plans, governance, tracking and delivery outcomes.
Problem Solver: able to think around a problem even if you haven’t encountered it before and come up with clear and logical solutions (e.g. Cause & Effect, 5 Why’s Affinity etc.)
Data Science and Insight: turns data into a strategic insights that become a key planning tool by enabling the delivery of accurate, real-time, comparable, and consistent business information that is agile, relevant, predictive and prescriptive in nature.
Flexibility and Agility: Adapts and works effectively with a variety of situations, individuals or groups. Can understand and appreciate different and opposing perspectives on an issue, to adapt an approach as the requirements of a situation change and to change or easily accept changes in one’s own organisation or job requirements. Able to operate in global capacity across time zones, markets, languages and cultures to achieve results.
