Pearson Financial Analyst in Hoboken, New Jersey

Role Summary:

This position will partner with the Head of Finance – Pearson for Work to deliver financial insight, analysis and support to a rapidly growing portion of the Pearson portfolio.

Collaboration, stakeholder management and attention to detail are the basis for success in this role. It is essential to thrive in an evolving environment, work to promote innovation and drive process improvement.

Reporting to the Head of Finance – Pearson for Work, you will play an important role in the order-to-cash process, particularly invoicing and client management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsibility for client invoicing and revenue reporting.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, finance and customer success to implement processes that streamline and improve the order-to-cash workflow.

  • Analyze financial data to improve top line forecasting, budgeting and reporting.

  • Work with the Head of Finance and other stakeholders to implement new business and accounting systems to support growth.

Skills Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, statistics, economics, business administration or another related field.

  • Proven success in a financial reporting environment.

  • Strong Excel skills and experience with financial modeling.

  • Demonstrated understanding of GAAP financial principles.

  • Ability to make decisions informed by data and ability to find or create meaningful and actionable data.

  • Ability to work from Hoboken, NJ and New York City offices strongly preferred

Additional Applicable Skills:

  • Prior experience as an accountant or operational work in an accounting environment.

  • Proven ability to create annual budgets and projection models.

  • Familiarity with QuickBooks and SalesForce.

  • Hands-on knowledge of financial system implementation and integration.

  • A “can-do” professional who is not afraid to roll up sleeves and work through complicated problems and processes.

  • A quick learner willing to work without perfect information and the ability to get smart fast as new business opportunities demand.

  • A strategic thinker with the ability to design systems that scale as the business grows.

  • An organized and responsive professional who understands the importance of accuracy in financial reporting.

Compensation at Pearson is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific location. As required by the Colorado, California, Washington State, and New York City laws, the pay range for this position is as follows:

Minimum full-time salary range is between $70,000 - $80,000.
