Digital Product Management is a key function within the Global Digital Channels & Customer Experience team, that has the responsibility to work with various Lines of Businesses to identify, prioritize and document critical digital business requirements in a holistic roadmap and collaborate with Technology, UX and Backend system teams to get them implemented in our digital platform. This will require relentless focus and diligent coordination with multiple teams across the company, including Technology, UX, Operations, Sales, Marketing and Legal. The individual will support the VP and Head of Digital Product Mgmt & Platform Operations in a fast-paced and high impact environment to drive business contribution towards achieving the strategic objectives of Pearson in 2020 and beyond.

This seasoned individual will use a combination of market insights, persuasion, and personal judgment to build credibility, challenge the status quo and drive outcomes. S/He is a highly motivated and passionate professional, motivated to deliver something amazing for individual customers. Key Responsibilities:

● Bridge the technology and business worlds by breaking down complex problems to outline the key business requirements and articulate them into technical requirements in a holistic product roadmap to drive prioritized feature implementation

● Analyze potential product enhancements and requests to determine the most optimal way to develop and build a best-in-class solution against the stipulated timelines

● Develop a product vision based on the business objectives, breaking down high level requirements into deliverable user stories. Work hand-in-glove with Technology, UX and Quality Assurance teams to develop these stories during agile sprints and deliver top-notch product at each release

● Possess outstanding project management skills and a strong attention to detail combined with a deep understanding of latest digital/eCommerce technologies

● Initiate and prioritize projects, assist in determining the best technical implementation methods, track product development, and develop product launch plans

● Take a leadership role in communicating the development progress and engage a broad range of stakeholders across the organization to secure alignment

● Demo key products to internal exec leadership and external community (customers, influencers etc.) to generate awareness

● Apply, promote and improve the Agile way of working

Qualifications

● 10 years of experience in technical product and program management/development, preferably in Software, SaaS or Technology related industries

● Previous experience with successful eCommerce roll-out at enterprise level

● Strong understanding of eCommerce system architecture and in-depth knowledge of Agile process and principles

● Familiarity with Hybris, AEM, Salesforce, Marketo, Oracle

● Collaborative thought partner, with a high degree of ownership and accustomed to driving results in cross-functional environments with little instruction or oversight

● Eloquent communicator (written and oral) comfortable at all organizational levels

● Outstanding structured project management skills are desirable

● Strong computer applications skills and excellent attention to detail. Quick learner with creative problem solving and analytical skills to turn ambiguous problem spaces into clear solutions

● Able to quickly build trusted relationships and credibility with technical leaders

● Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced and unstructured setting of large global organization, where working across boundaries and leading through influence are keys to success

● Superior communication, presentation and leadership skills

● Focus on operational excellence and time management

● Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills

● Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) required. MBA skill set preferred from a leading institution
