The Role

We are looking for a Business Analyst to join our Identity Access Management (IAM) team. Acting as a key facilitator, working closely with internal and external stakeholders, program leads, architects, and developers the Technical Analyst will ensure business requirements are translated into technical documentation and other relevant artefacts for development teams to deliver against.

As an integral member of the IAM team, the Business Analyst is responsible for evaluating both business and technology requirements to facilitate integration delivery between Pearson’s products and applications with Core IAM services.

This role will require excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as a desire to research and build knowledge about the products, services and technologies. In this capacity, the Technical Analyst is also a leader for change and process improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Author and review of technical documentation, including maintenance of Confluence and corporate social media sites

  • Organize and facilitate requirements gathering sessions with technical teams and stakeholders

  • Capture business requirements and define functional specifications; perform requirements fit and gap analysis

  • Translate requirements and design into deliverable work packages.

  • Communicate using a variety of methods such as text, diagrams, prototypes, story mapping, user stories and use cases.

  • Perform or assist with acceptance testing, training, operational readiness activities, and support to ensure a complete application service is successfully delivered to the business.

Qualifications

Skills and Desired Experience

  • 3 years experience with being a Business Analyst

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Knowledge and proficiency in business process optimization

  • Knowledge and proficiency in software test planning and execution

  • Knowledge and proficiency in troubleshooting application problems or issues (from a functional perspective)

  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science, or equivalent technical discipline.

  • IT professional with a minimum of 3 years technical analysis experience.

  • Experience with software requirements elicitation, analysis and documentation, and requirements confirmation.

  • Proven ability to learn new business domains and technical applications.

  • Strong technical, conceptualization, analytic, and communication skills including the ability to facilitate interactive sessions with business/functional personnel.

  • Ability to work effectively in teams, including instances where teams span multiple business units, locations or countries.

  • Motivated, self-directed and able to prioritize.

  • Experience working in an agile environment with tools such as Jira and Confluence.

  • Ability to build strong relationships with project teams and other stakeholders.
