Working in partnership with leading UK universities across the country, the OPM teams provide online learning services including marketing, student recruitment, course content development, training and ongoing student support. The Student Success Team brief is to deliver best in class student support with the aim of achieving the highest levels of student satisfaction and retention from one module to the next.Our Student Success Advisors have the highly rewarding experience of becoming an extension of the university partnership they work with and being an expert in supporting students on the programmes they work with.

The job

The Student Success Manager - Partner Liaison is a brand new pivotal role reporting to the Head of Student Success. Within this role, you would work closely with Heads of Partnership(s) and university faculty, with a significant opportunity to make an impact through process improvement, performance monitoring and management

In this role you serve as the main point of contact to the University Partner(s), and are required to use your retention expertise, in combination with qualitative and quantitative data, to drive change at an institution and to positively impact student retention and the student experience. You will also be responsible for all the non-student facing elements that go into providing student services for an online programme, including but not limited to; data transfer, budgeting and forecasting, cross-functional communication, programme material creation, liaison with academics and Learning Management System coordination.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Student Success Manager and Advisors operating in their partnership to assist in achieving team annual and teaching period retention targets while maintaining a commitment to the ideal student experience.

  • Continually analyse programme data to understand what is positively or negatively impacting student retention.

  • Prepare and present material at internal and external meetings, both in person and virtually.

  • Ensure the University Partner sees the value of Student Success services and the complexity of the support that is required to maintain an online programme.

  • Complete all non-student facing programme responsibilities in a timely fashion to ensure Advisor services can effectively support students.

  • Prepare for and attend on site strategy meetings with the University Partner.

  • Confer with faculty, program directors, campus counselors and administrators to help resolve students' academic and administrative problems.

  • Launch new programmes as needed, ensuring they align with Student Advisor services best practices.

  • Work with Student Success Advisors and Student Success Manager to ensure relevant knowledge level is attained of that partnership and programmes to support students and handle student queries.

  • Work with University Partners, Head of Partnership, Student Success Advisors/Manager and Pearson Product Development teams to identify opportunities to improve on student experience and outcomes.

Qualifications

What we are looking for in you

Mandatory

  • Demonstrable experience in previous Higher Education Administration or Student Services work experience

  • Experience or expertise in university regulations and policies

  • Ability to influence change and to work effectively across teams

  • Work effectively in a very fast paced changing environment and on own initiative

  • Professional oral, written and communication skills for effective contact and presentation with stakeholders

  • Strong analytical skills, with a track record of developing actionable recommendations from quantitative data

  • Great attention to detail, excellent organisational & project management skills

Preferable

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent professional qualifications

  • Experience in Salesforce CRM
