About the job

The Higher Education Service Delivery (HESD) team is a newly formed dynamic, fast moving team supporting all parts of our UK Higher Education business to identify, win and deliver with excellence services and products that support teaching and learning in a blended or online environment, against an agreed set of strategic priorities and growth opportunities.

These products and services include but are not limited to:

  • Online and blended course design and development

  • Custom publishing, content licensing and institutional publishing

  • Digital product training, and technology solution deployment

Reporting to the Digital Production Manager, you will be responsible for the development and production of new and existing learning content and assets for a number of online and blended course development projects. You will help scope, conceptualise, produce, test and deliver online courses and components in a variety of platforms and VLEs. The successful candidate will work collaboratively as part of a team dedicated to producing and delivering digital solutions and assets using Pearson and third party platforms and authoring tools.

You will help advise and support on the options available in the creation and delivery of courses and assets, ensuring that solutions meet client requirements and are feasible in the timeframe and budget. You will have experience of video and audio production, asset delivery, asset optimisation, LMS delivery platforms, authoring solutions and their capabilities, whilst understanding their limitations in order to advise accordingly from a technical and production perspective.

Whilst a key part of the role is to manage vendors and suppliers, you will also have experience of prototyping directly into a VLE, working closely alongside the project team to create prototypes iteratively prior to full scale development. You should have a knowledge of VLE native tools and plug-ins to inform the design stage of the process.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Responsible for the production, management, delivery and post go-live support of your own projects. • Organise and manage audio recordings and video shoots. Manage reviews, updates, edits in line with agreed scope and client expectations

  • Maintain the asset repository for all projects and ensure that assets are managed according to Pearson’s defined process. Knowledge of asset repositories, optimization of assets and version control would be an advantage

  • Working with the Product Owner to identify the customer requirements captured against user stories and to align the expectations of technology in these requirements

  • Establish Knowledge Hub for technology inside and outside Pearson, identifying Pearson tools, features and functionality and LMS capabilities and limitations applicable to HESD services – providing key information to the HESD and OPM teams

  • Execute delivery and implementation plan of any client customised LMS and software updates along with an understanding of hosting and support once live

  • Manage the development of any user guidelines requested by the Client on the use of the platform

  • Ensure best practice and process is followed and maintained. Be proactive in identifying where updates to existing or new processes and workflows are required. Discuss with line manager and assist with updates to process and workflow documentation if required.
