The Evaluation Systems group of Pearson offers dynamic teacher licensing and performance assessment solutions. Our custom teacher licensure testing programs are aligned to state and national standards. We also provide a wide variety of teacher licensure testing services such as test development, administration, and scoring. We work in a collaborative environment and are passionate about education.

The Assessment Programs Coordinator is a member of the Client Program Management team and works with the operational team. In this role, the Assessment Programs Coordinator assists in the implementation of development projects for large-scale, high-stakes educator certification testing programs. The Assessment Programs Coordinator is responsible for guiding the execution of all project activities to delivery and serves as a resource to project staff and state education agency clients. The successful candidate will bring a strong client focus, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and successful problem-solving approach to client support. The Assessment Programs Coordinator will direct multiple projects simultaneously. This position is located in our Amherst, MA office.


  • Designs, guides the development of, and reviews all major project components of test development and test administration (e.g., test materials review conferences, field tests, test preparation resources).

  • Produces and monitors short and long-term project plans (e.g., project specification packages, client planning documents, production schedules).

  • Maintains client contact.

  • Prepares for, travels on behalf of the organization to, handles logistics for, and facilitates project-related conferences (e.g., test materials review conferences).

  • Conducts internal and client-facing planning meetings and workshops; may deliver online presentations.

  • Guides, reviews and maintains quality control on all major project products (e.g., reports, tests).

  • Ensures effective organization and coordination of all project tasks.

  • Analyzes and resolves problems arising from management of multi-faceted projects; updates internal stakeholders on status and progress of projects.

  • Provides input regarding project staffing plans and the delegation/assignment of project responsibilities.


  • Bachelor's degree is required, Master's/advanced degree is preferred

  • Experience in working as part of a project team

  • Demonstrated experience in technical writing and client correspondence

  • Proven experience in meeting facilitation including agenda setting, meeting management and minutes

  • Ability to analyze issues, identify root cause, and drive to resolution

  • Ability to set priorities, meet critical deadlines, and produce high-quality and accurate work under time constraints.

  • Excellent interpersonal, collaborative and communication skills; demonstrated ability to establish positive working relationships at all levels of the organization. Ability to work effectively within a project team and across departments

  • Ability to travel 10% - 20%

  • Highly proficient in MS-Office

  • Experience with Smartsheet a plus

  • Experience in higher education environment a plus

  • Knowledge of principles of educational testing and of test development and administration is preferred
