Description

Pearson Marketing Cloud is one of Pearson’s global technology platforms, globally-distributed instances, multi-tenant, driving the digital transformation for web content and eCommerce. PMC currently hosts 40 marketing websites which serves over 75% of all Pearson web traffic and processes all Pearson eCommerce revenue world-wide.

The right candidate will be a high­ performing and experienced Project Manager with experience leading complex transformation projects, who can leverage their project management skills and act as a catalyst to drive project delivery and digital change. Experience with eCommerce and technical management is a must.

We are looking for someone who can bring passion for technology and project management to cross-functional teams. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced Project Manager to directly enhance the lives of millions, by supporting the provision of education on a global scale

This person will be responsible for shaping and managing the delivery of projects and their associated business outcomes to the project Steering Committee and sponsor. Project characteristics are typically as follows:

  • Lead a multi-functional team comprising of Developers, DevOps Engineers and Architects, QA and Application SMEs as a Scrum Master

  • Initiating extra activities and other management interventions wherever gaps in the delivery are identified or issues arise

  • Reporting the progress of the project at regular intervals to key stakeholders

  • Management of stakeholders and outsourced partners

  • Multi-party delivery teams (known or new resources & vendors)

  • Support and delivery of the Pearson UK web estate

Qualifications

  • Strong background in Project Management managing medium to large-sized cross-functional global teams specifically around delivering Content Management and eCommerce technical projects.

  • Specific knowledge of SAP Hybris or Adobe AEM is a plus.

  • Experienced Scrum Master with understanding of other Agile delivery frameworks in an Agile / Scrum / Kanban environment with tools and techniques to ensure engagement of teams in their delivery methodology

  • Excellent knowledge of Jira

  • Experience of working with stakeholders at all level

  • Ability to successfully communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Ability to articulate problems and bring the correct people together to resolve problems with the proper sense of urgency the problem requires

  • Adept at influencing others even when position is not initially shared by others.

  • Leadership in managing projects through expert knowledge to identify opportunity for change and the ability to convey the need for change

  • Experience on all aspects of good Project Management practice specifically around RAID, milestone management, plan management and tracking, governance and control levels needed to ensure successful project delivery

  • Management of risks, issue and dependencies across multiple projects

  • Management of the day-to day operational and tactical aspects of multiple simultaneous projects where necessary

  • Financial management of the project to ensure accurately forecasted demand and spend across projects and aligns with Pearson’s processes

  • Experience in Confluence, Jira, Google Apps and Smartsheets
