As one of our interns, you will gain a comprehensive introduction to our business. You’ll be assigned to a team and work on real-life projects that bring our qualification delivery and services to life. Support in the role in job training and professional development will be provided to enable you to contribute to the business. You’ll also have direct access to a senior member of the team, as each intern will be mentored to help you make the most of the 10-week program.

What Does the Internship Program Offer?

Successful candidates will spend 10 weeks working with our Technology teams.

You will be paid for the duration of your internship. The internship begins on Monday, June 2 nd and ends Friday, August 8 th .

*Job Description  *

As an Intern, you will get an opportunity to work with skilled team of software engineers and assist in implementing new features. You will also be working with technical leads and will gain practical experience with a wide variety of software engineering tasks and technologies.

Interns will develop a broad knowledge of Software Development and Software Engineering at Pearson. You will have an opportunity to work with teams from all over the world. An ideal fit for this role would be a person who can thrive in fast paced environment willing to take on new challenges.

You will get an opportunity to work on projects that are already in production. You will have an assigned mentor who will help you with your assignments. Our development environment uses AWS infrastructure, React, Node.js, JavaScript, Java, Git (Bitbucket), Jenkins. You will also get an opportunity to work on product built using design pattern Micro Frontend, Microservice’s.

We will have front end, back end, and full-stack software engineer positions available. Alternatively, you could join the Salesforce AI team to gain hands-on experience with the world’s largest cloud-based CRM platform, using low-code development and prompt engineering. During the interview process, candidates will be able to clarify which roles they are most interested in for the Pearson software engineer internship.

Minimum Requirements

Enrolled in an undergraduate degree in Information Science / Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field

Deep knowledge of Salesforce platform, JavaScript or ReactJS, writing maintainable, reusable code.

Experience with HTML/CSS, including concepts like cross-browser support, theming, and accessibility.

Understanding of code versioning tools, such as GIT.

Strong fundamentals and problem-solving skills.

Communicate equally clearly in writing, code, and speech.

Graduation date of May 2026

Must be able to work hybrid; in-person/remote at our Durham office for the entire 10-weeks
