As one of our interns, you will gain a comprehensive introduction to our business. You’ll be assigned to a team and work on real-life projects that bring our products and services to life. On the job training and professional development will be provided to enable you to contribute to the business. You’ll also have direct access to a senior member of the team, as each intern will be mentored to help you make the most of the ten-week program.

What Does the Internship Program Offer?

Successful candidates will spend 10 weeks working with our technology teams.

You will be paid for the duration of your internship. The internship begins on Monday, June 6th and ends Friday, August 12th, 2022.

Job Description

As a Quality Engineer in the Digital and Technology organization, you will:

  • Collaborate with Product Owner and development team to understand user story requirements

  • Design, implement, and execute test plans that ensure desired functionality and criteria have been met

  • Devise test plans that test the full functionality of a system from an end user perspective

  • Analyze documentation and specifications of existing applications/systems to derive use cases to be tested

  • Identify and implement opportunities to automate testing activities

What does the 10 weeks involve?

You will have an opportunity to develop a broad knowledge of Software testing lifecycle, agile methodology and process, understand testing approach and documentation involved and test automation skills. You will also learn extensively on Pearson business, domain knowledge of publishing and learning industry. Acquire effective insight into best industry practices, risk management and practical hands-on exposure on Web, Mobile and backend Api’s application testing.

Minimum Requirements

  • We look for Students pursuing a STEM degree (Science, Technology, Engineering) with Software Development subjects or relevant work experience. We also look for Students pursuing a degree in computer science, software engineering, information security, engineering or technology.

  • Students should also have a basic understanding of Cloud platforms, in particular AWS.

  • Experience in coding with Core Java or OOPS concepts, CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins) preferred but not required.

  • Understanding of testing concepts and process, Automation tools (GitHub, Selenium).

  • Students should be a ‘people person’, well-rounded, and happy to take on new challenges. Flexibility is important, as you will be joining a versatile and agile testing team.

  • Graduation date between December 2022 and May 2024 and should be within driving distance of office location.
