Content Manager

Description

The Content Manager, Middle East is a key part of the Hub’s Service Delivery Unit strategy for Product Development, via the creation of holistic learning programmes, including print and digital, to deliver transformational results to regional institutions and learners.

You will manage the development of learning content programmes aligned with market needs as part of the Middle East Hub’s strategy plans, to deliver long-term business growth.

You will also manage the development of content required as part of Ministry and institutional contracts, and contribute to securing these opportunities working closely with partner teams in the Hub.

Key priorities will be:

  • To deliver high quality content based on current pedagogical requirements, and given specifications, budgets and schedules

  • To set and implement optimal forms of collaboration and co-development with authors, vendors and partners

  • To increase further our engagement with end-users in the development of learning materials

  • To engage with clients on bespoke content commissioned, as needed.

This is a position requiring knowledge of Pearson product development capabilities. The role requires the ability to think strategically whilst also being able to implement rigorously and act operationally.

Key Accountabilities:

Content Management

  • Define optimal content management workflows and processes for each project

  • Analyse project needs and propose resources for adequate and timely delivery of multi-component content products

  • Identify appropriate authors/contributors and advisors

  • Define and implement checks and balances at specific stages of project/product development to ensure successful completion of each stage leading to publication

Author and vendor briefing and management

  • Overall management of authors and advisors to ensure that brief is followed as per agreements, and to local market/product needs

  • Overall management of content design and production, including all editorial aspects of the project through all stages

Realising / implementing Pearson content development

  • Strategies to agreed timescales, specifications and cost budgets

  • Content budgeting, ensuring spend aligns with budgets and overseeing optimal return on spend

  • A key liaison with project managers and other Pearson stakeholders

Client/Customer Engagement

  • Encourage and embody customer-led content development as core to all work

  • Engage in ongoing conversations with users: analyse client and/or market feedback, and manage and implement content recommendations from testing and review

Qualifications

Competencies

Essential:

  • Experience of educational product focused around the needs of regional learners

  • Good knowledge of Education industry standards, and Middle East policies and guidelines on content

  • Ability to listen carefully to customer requirements and translate these into successful content specifications

  • Experience with publishing project management of multiple, complex, high-level product

  • Experience of engaging and influencing internal and external stakeholders to deliver on large high-level content solutions

  • Ability to build effective relationships and work across teams

  • Willingness to travel across the region

  • Strong understanding of pedagogical landscape and educational trends

  • Arabic language is an asset, but not a requirement
