SUMMARY

The Senior Process Engineer utilizes Lean, Six Sigma, business analysis, and quality management methodologies to work with key business and functional area leaders to assess, develop, and implement high impact business transformations, process and quality improvements. The position will support quality and productivity improvement projects with throughput increases and cost reduction goals of various scope and scale. The position will not be required to manage departmental budgets but may accountable for project-specific resources (budget and staff).

The position will guide and mentor project team members. The position will not have direct reports.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Senior Process Engineer responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following. Percentages of time spent on each area are approximations and may change as dictated by the business environment and priorities.

Organizational support & event facilitation – 50%

  • Support quality & continuous improvement activities throughout the business units and shared services

  • Lead and/or support transformation projects from inception through conclusion

  • Lead practical problem solving efforts to identify root causes and develop and implement solutions

  • Facilitate group events in a variety of transactional and operational settings

  • Lead process improvement activities throughout the enterprise to enhance Customer Satisfaction,

Employee Satisfaction, Quality and Efficiency among other KPIs

  • Utilize Value Stream Mapping to streamline processes and identify opportunities for future improvements

  • Lead kaizen events in a variety of transactional and operational settings to implement the strategic plan

Quality performance measurement – 40%

  • Utilize process and quality improvement tools to refine critical processes

  • Establish process & tools for data collection transactions at task level for units, time, & defects

  • Devise sampling plans and standard methods for inspections, testing, and production validation

  • Lead investigations into non-conformances (product & process), report on causes and develop solutions

  • Develop metrics to demonstrate improvement impacts, process performance & quality improvements

Change Agent development – 10%

  • Act as a change agent within the business to affect a culture of continuous improvement

  • Modify and further develop quality & continuous improvement training materials

  • Provide training to raise the Continuous Process Improvement (CPI)/Lean knowledge level and

implementation skills of the enterprise

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

  • Lead and/or support individual projects from inception through conclusion

  • Lead practical problem solving efforts to identify root causes and develop and implement solutions

  • Facilitate group events in a variety of transactional and operational settings

  • Ability to establish process & tools for data collection transactions at task level for units, time, & defects

  • Ability to influence the adoption of standard practices and processes to drive consistency in quality outcomes.

  • Ability to develop metrics to demonstrate improvement impacts, process performance & quality improvements

  • Ability to oversee and provide guidance to others in the quality organization

  • Ability to act as a change agent within the business to affect a culture of continuous improvement

  • Professional certification in Lean, Quality Management, Agile, Six Sigma, Business Analysis or Project Mgmt

  • Cross discipline experience in the quality domains of QMS implementation, Continuous Improvement or Audit.

  • Experience utilizing various process and quality improvement methodologies, preferably in areas of product development, product quality, and software development

  • Understanding of ISO certified quality management systems and QMS principles; experience conducting quality audits in support of certification preferred

  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in business management, engineering, or information systems preferred; equivalent work experience will be considered

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills

  • PC or MAC proficient with Microsoft Office suite including Access, Project, Visio and SharePoint
