Automation Engineer

Position Summary:

The Automation Engineer is responsible for automated application software testing; having experience both creating and maintaining software automation test scripts. He/She/They will also build strong business relationships with his/her peers from QA and within Agile teams, but also with Technical Support and Business Users in order to ensure the QA processes are integrated throughout the software development life cycle and that the overall quality of the product is constantly improving.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and initiate advanced automated testing methodologies.

  • Develops and maintains new and existing scalable automation frameworks and solution sets for web applications

  • Promotes and enforces our software development engineering best practices for process frameworks, procedures, policies, and standards

  • Collaborate with engineers to achieve expected quality levels in products.

  • Test products in all phases of its life cycle.

  • Interface with developers in executing projects.

  • Participate in design and code reviews.

  • Participate in functioning processes and testing of products.

  • Ensure compliance of quality processes and standards.

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Requirements:

For your application to be considered, you must have the following:

  • At least 3 to five years of experience as an SDET or Automation Engineer

  • At least five years of experience in analyzing business requirements, recommending technical solutions, and writing test plans and test cases

  • Demonstrated understanding of SQL, stored procedures, with demonstrated hands-on experience

  • Excellent understanding of Web technologies in general, i.e. HTML, CSS, and JavaScript

  • Experience in implementing QA processes, procedures, strategies, tracking KPI’s, and measuring quality

  • An extremely detail-oriented work ethic

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • High-speed Internet access at home and a personal computer

  • The ability to demonstrate work experience by providing examples

In addition, the ideal candidate may have one or more:

  • Experience in version control and issue control systems such as Azure DevOps, JIRA, TFS, Jenkins, Stash, and Visual Studio (VSTS)

  • Experience analyzing business needs, developing solutions and writing business requirements

  • Experience with migration testing of static data and transaction data from one core system to another.

  • Experience or exposure to performance testing tools, test case management systems, etc.

  • Experience working on Agile teams, especially if work experience includes working in SAFe
