Strategy 20%

  1. Support and contribute towards the forming of departmental strategy

  2. Translate Divisional goals to clear direction for direct reports

  3. Hold Architects accountable to their KPIs and targets for their supported platforms.

Initiatives 40%

  1. Drive initiatives aimed at continuous improvement of quality, process and operations.

  2. Own and deliver on initiatives as derived from above.

  3. Review and make organizational improvements on a regular basis.

  4. Ensure that practice areas are in place/engaged and that initiatives are receiving the necessary support.

Roadmap 20%

  1. Ensure Architecture Division is executing on goals committed-to.

  2. Accountable for delivering assigned Architecture Division goals within time and budget on an annual basis.

  3. Work closely with his/her counterparts (other divisional stakeholders) to align Pearson Sri Lanka teams with

organizational goals and objectives and address any escalations.

HR/ Admin 10%

  1. Manage & mentor Architects and support them in their career advancement

  2. Ensure goals are set for direct reports and they are meeting the same.

  3. Drive divisional team performance evaluations and prescribe appropriate changes to process, policies and procedures

to enable optimal team performance

  1. Deal with divisional staffing issues, including employee issues, counseling, performance appraisals, etc and will also

provide recommendations on recruitment, performance management and remunerations.

  1. Research and recommend professional development opportunities to team

Ops 10%

  1. Drive the organizational vision by encouraging and assisting his/her directs to collaborate with product and program

management on technical and non-functional requirements for new projects and maintenance of existing features

  1. Coordinate and guide processes within the managerial teams

  2. Work with his/her peers and direct reports in evaluating project success, addressing issues and process improvements,

and reporting where necessary toHead of Department.


The applicant should have Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or an equivalent qualification. Preferably also a

Master’s degree. Minimum ten (10) years experience in software engineering and design including a minimum of (5)

years experience as an Architect or a role of senior technology leadership.
