Pearson Manager, Measurement Services in Chicago, Illinois
Summary:
The Manager, Measurement Services, will report to the Director, Global Measurement Services and is responsible for leading a team of talented psychometricians responsible for delivering a full spectrum of measurement services for clients in the Professional Certification, IT, Regulatory Licensure and Admissions markets.

Responsibilities:
Provide leadership, coaching, mentoring, and training for a team of psychometricians. Responsible for team retention and hiring.
Manage customer programs, ensuring high-quality, on-time delivery of psychometric solutions and deliverables that enable long-term client relationships and trust.
Build effective working relationships with key stakeholders across the organization to drive a collaborative solutions-driven environment while ensuring adherence to cross functional process standards.
Provide business development support for new opportunities by meeting with prospects to assist in gathering requirements, designing solutions, writing and reviewing proposal language, and providing inputs for cost models.
Required Education & Experience:
Doctoral degree in educational measurement or a related field from a nationally recognized institution of higher education.
Minimum of five years of relevant job experience with a strong background in computerized exam delivery, pool-based testing, item response theory (IRT), job task analysis, and standard setting.
Experience managing a team and/or directing the operational psychometric activities of multiple assessment programs.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Thorough understanding of the principles of test design, test construction, classical and IRT-based item analysis, and item calibration, linking, equating and technical reporting.
Ability to negotiate and deliver solutions, meet deadlines and manage scopes of work with clients and internal teams.
Ability to navigate high-impact, high-profile, critical situations.
Ability to monitor and maintain quality control and mitigate risk.
Ability to design research studies, develop research analysis specifications, identify study limitations, coordinate study resources, and to write technical papers.
Familiarity with software packages and programming languages such as SAS, R, MULTILOG, etc.
Ability to identify the broader implications of relevant psychometric trends for operational assessment programs and research projects.
Ability to propose measurement plans and provide sound psychometric advice to clients.
Excellent communication skills (oral, written, and business) necessary to function effectively in a leadership role with internal teams, clients and their associated Subject Matter Experts, and national measurement experts.
Project management skills necessary to direct and oversee multiple assessment programs and/or research projects.
Working Location and Travel:
Preference for Bloomington, MN or Chicago, IL. Remote work is a possibility for the well-qualified candidate.
Ability to travel for client meetings and professional conferences, as required, about 20-25%.
Compensation at Pearson is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific location. As required by the Colorado, California, Washington State, New York State and New York City laws, the pay range for this position is as follows:
The minimum full-time salary range is between $125k- $140k.
