This position is responsible for conceptualizing and creating multimedia training assets based on Pearson’s platforms for teachers, coaches, principals, and K-12 school administrators. The Platforms Learning & Development Specialist will use their extensive knowledge of technology and platforms, as well as effective instructional practices to conceptualize and design content, write scripts, record audio and video, and create finished training assets of varying length. They will work with stakeholders to establish plans, then independently execute the plans with the assistance of a project manager.

In addition, the Platforms Learning & Development Specialist may also be called upon to assist with special projects, including product model innovations and creating process and workflow efficiencies. They will be charged with making sound content and creative decisions, and offering solutions that will help improve the overall quality and efficacy of Pearson’s training content.


  • Work within the Services Development team to create platform training assets for delivery within time and budget parameters

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to conceptualize and develop authentic content

  • Research, write, and develop high-quality technology and platform training content

  • Work with editors to ensure fidelity to Pearson products and platforms

  • Supervise and train external contractors

  • Innovate, innovate, innovate

  • Minimum of a BS/BA degree; MS/MA in Education with a focus on technology

  • 2 years’ experience in education technology


  • Experience developing training content, preferably for educators

  • High level of comfort with technologies and learning platforms

  • Proven experience with instructional design and presentation software

  • Exceptional ability to conceptualize and execute creative treatments for a variety of media types and audiences

  • Excellent writing skills

  • Knowledge of audio and video production techniques and best practices

  • Comfort with being on-air and on-camera talent

  • Experience working with virtual teams across geographical locations

  • Extraordinary organization, communication, and interpersonal skills

  • High degree of flexibility and good humor
