Location: Chandler, Arizona - Pleaes note this position would require the chosen applicant to relocate to Arizona. Pearson is offering relocation for this role.

Summary

The Director of Strategy is responsible for crafting and delivering an inspiring and compelling set of user experiences, identifying and solving student problems with meaningful strategic solutions and driving innovation through data and research for Arizona State University Online. This role will lead and facilitate design thinking activities at various stages in the student journey. The DS is expected to leverage an iterative, user-centered approach to conceive and deliver valuable new experiences for new student growth and retaining them over the lifecycle of their relationship with Arizona State University Online. The DS will drive the design and delivery of best practice user research, including framing key questions, creating research plans to address those, conducting research, and synthesizing findings into meaningful, actionable insights.

General Responsibilities

  • Establish an insights-driven marketing culture where analytics drive efficient decision-making when used appropriately and in conjunction with human/user insights.

  • Develop a strong UX culture around data, learning efficacy and delivering both student and business outcome.

  • Quickly establish design-thinking processes around user research, rapid prototyping, testing, iterating and deploying to maximize efficiency.

  • Lead and synthesize various forms of research that leads to insight

  • Motivate and inspire teams with information and insight, while crafting a strategic narrative that drives

  • Works with executive management to establish strategic framework that enables short and long-term business goals and objectives.

  • Develops specific processes to manage the business strategic planning process.

  • Maintains and aligns business process and frameworks to Pearson enterprise strategy process and framework.

  • Directs ASUO-specific strategic roadmaps to ensure deliverables are met (current and future).

  • Maintains responsibility of change management plans and strategies for large, complex business specific initiatives that often impact the organization and/or enterprise.

  • Lead primary and secondary research and analysis and synthesizes findings on market, industry, consumer and competitor trends.

  • Supports executive leadership with the design and coordination of the annual strategic media and marketing and operational planning processes. Leads and motivates cross-functional team members in strategy development and implementation.

Qualifications

General Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field and/or appropriate combination of education and significant experience

  • 8 years of professional work experience in a strategy position.

  • Demonstrated business acumen in strategic planning and a proven ability to balance strategic thinking with practical implementation skills.

  • Effective executive level communications and facilitation experience.

  • Demonstrated ability to engage stakeholders and partners in a collaborative development process; strong consulting skills with a proven track record of leading high impact engagements.

  • Well-versed in articulating business and technical value proposition for advanced analytics use cases.

  • Excellent conceptual and analytical thinking and communication skills through white-boarding, presentations and written content creation.
