Summary

The Associate Director Marketing (ADM) is responsible for providing world-class marketing services for the Arizona State University Online (ASU Online) academic partnership. The ADM may develop or work with various

internal/external teams to identify, manage, and deliver services such as: account

management, content marketing strategy, messaging, creative, project and brand management.

The ADM will be responsible for advancing the national visibility of the ASU Online in the marketplace. The position will be responsible for leading the development of compelling and motivating written content and will lead the management of website content as well as its relationship to SEO. This role will be a creative and strategic thinker who can amplify the impact of the content they and others are developing by finding new, strategic ways to maximize its reach and use.

Primary duties include but are not limited to the following:

i. Research, write and edit interesting and inclusive content that strengthens ASU Online’s brand messages and aligns the brand’s positioning and personality with prospective students.

ii. Manage how content is used across each program on the website to ensure the site is interesting, informative, relevant and up to date.

iii. Lead discussions, trainings and workshops with internal marketing and content strategy needs to ensure communications with the academic partner are effective in achieving performance goals.

iv. Assist with curating content from across ASU Online’s colleges and programs for regular distribution to internal and external audiences.

v. Consistent assessing of the ASUO website content performance in order to make strategic decisions about future content development and placement.

vi. Assist with social media content creation and monitoring as needed.

Qualifications

General Qualifications

i. 4-year degree from an accredited institution in Marketing, Business Administration or related field, OR appropriate combination of education and significant experience.

ii. Excellent writing, grammar, and editing skills, including experience with and knowledge of feature writing, writing for marketing purposes and writing for print and/or digital mediums.

iii. Proven skills in creativity, analysis, and problem solving, and the ability to evaluate, synthesize, and incorporate ideas and feedback from multiple stakeholders; ability to synthesize complex ideas and concepts into compelling writing.

iv. Ability to work independently as well as within a team to meet deadlines.

v. Possess the cross-cultural abilities to build relationships and work effectively with diverse groups.
