We are looking for an exceptional multidisciplinary and experienced Senior Product Manager with a focus on the implementation of scalable AI, learning analytics, and personalization capabilities in Pearson’s core delivery platforms.

As a Senior Product Capabilities Manager working on learning analytics you will hold the responsibility of translating Pearson's Global Product data feature requirements into a cohesive set of actionable learning analytics platform specifications & processes to iteratively develop, deploy, and measure their performance against our goal of improving learner outcomes through personalized educational experiences.


  • Establish and execute processes and tools to develop AI and learning analytics based data driven capabilities and products for commercial release and ongoing deployment.

  • In collaboration with Global Product Management partners, evaluate personalization market opportunities and map value propositions to AI solutions and capabilities in order to prioritize our learning analytics platform roadmap.

  • Attain a deep understanding of business requirements in order to create and collect data sets that represent the problem space well enough to develop a strategic data acquisition plan.

  • Oversee AI and learning analytics capabilities development processes to ensure business requirements are met from technical and operational perspectives.

  • Lead data driven design initiatives to identify, cultivate, and develop data first approaches to capture user interaction evidence that informs our ongoing product capabilities development.

  • Collaborate seamlessly with product focused R&D teams to envision, test & document reference specifications and fit for purpose designs.

  • Collaborate with technical development teams to ensure implementations match reference specifications & quality and support ongoing extensibility at scale.

  • Establish & implement methods for ongoing monitoring and measuring of our learning analytics quality, performance, and outcomes in order to improve and adjust our functionality to changing market conditions.

  • Ensures needs related to promoting and measuring learning gains are built into our learning analytics product features and maintenance processes.

  • Acting as a champion of applied analytics by embedding efficacy and operational measurement & optimization into capabilities, processes, and products.

  • Contributing to, and communicating, Pearson's vision of the role of learning analytics and personalization in serving our customers though courseware and platform evolution.

  • Translating market and technology trends, along with customer and stakeholder needs for capability enhancements, into plans and execution for the most efficient and cost-effective approach to building product capabilities.

  • Driving the specification, development and ongoing management and governance of customer facing capabilities that address data, analytic and personalization needs in existing and evolving courseware platforms.

  • Working closely with other AI Product and Solutions peers to bring best in class innovation into scaled market deployment.




  • Bachelors required; advanced degree preferred in domains concerned with a mix of education, technology, business or learning analytics, or similarly relevant field. Equivalent work experience will be considered in the absence of degree.

Key capabilities:

  • Technical Acumen:

  • Familiarity with educational platforms, data technologies, and industry standards along with development and business implications.

  • Working knowledge of assessment theory, predictive concepts, evidence evaluation, and recommendation systems logic.

  • Foundational understanding of the criticality of content structures and domain models including learning objectives, skill attribution, and knowledge graphing.

  • Understanding of data model development & architecture to articulate the translation of business requirements to objects and attributes in collaboration with data architects.

  • Experience leading user research design & visualization resources in the development of customer work flows that incorporate the AI concepts of explainability and interpretability.

  • Extensive successful experience managing analytic and data driven scaled efforts as well as well abstracted platforms.

  • Ability to tightly collaborate with product focused R&D teams to ensure technical outcomes meet business needs and the full range of innovation possibilities are incorporated.

  • Ability to translate technical recommendations & capability outcomes into responsible customer impacts and functionality.

  • Experience successfully collaborating with technical development teams to clearly articulate and ensure implementations match reference specifications at scale.

  • Discern between rule based software systems and data driven intelligent systems designed to learn from digital input & feedback.

  • Delivers Results: Has a track record of achievement, accountability and translating complex strategies into actionable plans that achieve business goals.

  • Multi-level Management: Excellent organizational skills, coupled with the proven ability to set priorities, manage deadlines, and make data-driven decisions while maintaining excellent organizational health.

Appreciation of the diversity of stakeholder interactions and adaptivity of style and approach accordingly including presenting to more senior staff. Excellent communication in written and spoken English.

  • Interpersonal and relationship-building skills: Excellent internal stakeholder management at all levels, seen as a trusted advisor to team leadership and broad range of stakeholders.

  • Judgement and problem-solving skills: Demonstrates sound judgement in assessing business risks and make decisions that balance a variety of factors whilst always maintaining the integrity of the core values and business strategy.
