SUMMARY
The Senior Digital Producer K-12 Math position resides within the Math Business Unit and is responsible for the digital development of K-12 programs in Math. Under the leadership of a Manager or the Director of Math Technology the Senior Digital Producer K-12 Math will play a critical role in building digital products. This position will lead the development of large scale product offerings. The Senior Digital Producer will work with the larger team to define the component or product offerings, manage to the schedule and the budget, manage the vendor and the QA, and then work with the deployment team to deploy the content. This position will bring innovation to the product offerings and the development processes for digital products. This position will work closely with Editorial, development teams, and others within the Technology group to build products for Math. The candidate will have an excellent understanding of digital develop processes and tools, and bring to the position skills to build market-winning product offerings.
SCOPE AND IMPACT OF JOB
The work of the Senior Producer K-12 Math will impact K-12 education by helping to bring 21st century learning products to market. The decisions made by the Senior Digital Producer position will influence the success of the Math product offerings. The scope of the work will encompass a wide range of multimedia formats on a variety of platforms and delivery devices (IWBs/Web/LMS platforms/mobile delivery) available today, and new devices and platforms in the future
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead large teams of Editors, Designers, QA and Vendors working on innovative Math product offerings.
Manage critical projects and budgets to meet and not exceed the development budgets and deliver the products on time with high quality.
Responsible for budgets ranging from $100K - $1MM
Work with senior editorial experts to develop program content within digital program platform.
Work with CDUX and Design teams to design how content will be presented, organized and accessed within the program.
Work with Instructional Designers, Research and Usability Testing teams to ensure products are validated as part of formative evaluation.
Ensure products meet high QA standards.
Follows current trends and research on innovations and educational technology.
Qualifications
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum of 4 years experience delivering large scale components or digital product offerings to the education market.
Ability to lead large teams working on multiple projects simultaneously building Math digital products.
The ability to write RFP’s and detail product specification for vendors and internal development teams.
Knowledge of development processes to build digital products. The ability to modify the processes to create digital first products, plus the ability to provide leadership to implement these processes.
Flexibility to work in a fast moving development environment.
Excellent communication skills, strong analytical and verbal communication skills, and excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate effectively in visual, oral and written form.
Ability to build bridges with the various internal business units and strong relationships with vendors.
Strong computer skills, specifically Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) and other project management and budget tracking tools.
Highly organized and able to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
High degree of flexibility and tolerance for change.
Experience in critical roles working on multi-million dollar projects.
A Bachelors degree or higher degree required.
Desired Skills
Knowledge of educational publishing products and processes
Expertise in documentation creation and management
Prior experience with Content Management Systems
Familiarity with various authoring and programming tools, including but not limited to HTML and XML
