Software Developer

We're seeking a Software Developer to help us drive the technology behind REALIZE, our newest learning management system.

REALIZE gives ‘digital natives’ the learning experience that they have come to expect. It is the online destination for standards-aligned content, flexible class management tools, and embedded assessment that deliver rich data instantly to teachers.

Qualifications

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities to be Successful in this Role:

  • Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering and extensive relevant experience; Master’s preferred.

  • 5 years of post-baccalaureate, progressively responsible experience, as a Software Engineer with demonstrated results in challenging projects.

  • 3 years of experience in design, analysis, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of highly scalable web platform services and components.

  • 4 years experience in Restful API design, Spring, Spring MVC, Java/ J2EE, Hibernate, Tomcat, SOAP, HTML5 and CSS.

  • Experience in developing standards-based, CSS-driven, table-less layouts.

  • Working knowledge of Nodejs is a plus.

  • Strong background in Object Oriented Programming / Analysis and Design concepts, Design Patterns, and Software Development Life Cycle.

  • Experience in a continuous integration process, employing a CI server, automated unit testing and deployment.

  • Strong experience with both Git and Subversion.

  • Working knowledge of unit testing frameworks such as JUnit, Mockito.

  • Strong work ethic, collaborative and energetic team player.

  • Superb verbal and written communication skills.
