Pearson Associate Producer in Boston, Massachusetts

Associate Producer

At Pearson, we’re committed to a world that’s always learning and to our talented team who makes it all possible. We are bold thinkers and standout innovators who motivate each other to explore new frontiers in an environment that supports and inspires us to always be better.

The Global Content Solutions Team (GSC) at Pearson is a central resource tasked with a variety of tasks, including product and project management, data analysis, reporting, and research. We are a small and dynamic team in multiple locations across the world, working across all of Pearson but mainly looking at our content and its development life-cycle.

We are looking for a driven, organized, high-energy individual contributor to join our team. While this is an entry level position, we believe you already possess a good understanding of enterprise software development, possibly from a previous intern- or apprenticeship.

As an Associate Producer, you will wear many hats, including elements of product management, business analysis, and project management. You need to be able to seamlessly and comfortably move between these roles to deliver our goals and outcomes.

The successful candidate will be working closely with technology, product and support teams world-wide, to shape and drive efforts to future-proof our technologies, products, and business. We are looking for an individual who is inquisitive, creative, dynamic, and flexible; there is no “business as usual” about this role, and few days will be like yesterday. This position requires independent problem solving skills, an analytical mindset, a passion for data, and solid grasp of technology.

Perhaps most importantly, you are a people person, an excellent communicator, fast learner, proactive problem solver, and embrace the opportunity to be a change agent. You are data driven, and much of the work you drive is to improve the quality and volume of the data we collect.

Key Responsibilities

  • Author, collect, and socialize business and functional requirements for technology projects and processes, both as an individual contributor, and as a coordinator of adjacent teams.

  • Synthesize, visualize and present complex workflows and technology solutions in a concise format, supported by data, for presentation to and approval by stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with business owners and subject matter experts to author business cases and properly align and prioritize requirements along their respective roadmaps.

  • Work closely with internal product and strategy teams to ensure alignment.

  • Track products and trends from competitors and other publishing industries to identify and articulate opportunities for innovation.

  • Organize project workgroups to drive and track collaborative solutioning, execution and delivery.

Pearson is an equal opportunities employer. We do not discriminate against employees or job applicants and select the best person for each job based on relevant skills and experience.

We are also committed to building an accurate picture of the make-up of the workforce and encouraging equality and diversity.

The information you provide will stay confidential, and be stored securely. It will not be seen by those involved in making decisions as part of the recruitment process.

  • A collaborative mindset, thriving on networking, team-working, and communication.

  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.

  • A contagious can-do attitude.

  • A confident, enthusiastic approach to building products, driven by vision, data and measurable outcomes.

Technical Skills

  • Proficient with Excel and Powerpoint, and/or similar data analysis and presentation tools.

  • Familiar with agile software development and project management methodologies.
