We are a growing team building the most popular assessment platform in the United States. Every year millions of students will software in classrooms across the US. You will be pioneering new approaches in subjects like Math where you find new creative for students to show their work. Your solutions will change the industry and be used for years to come.

Senior Software Developers lead engineering teams to build accessible user interfaces for our products; create fast, scalable, maintainable, and secure systems; define best practices in development; and contribute to design ideation and decision making.

About you:The skills of a Senior Software Developer include:

As a Software Developer you will be working with an energetic and talented team to create advanced tools for measuring knowledge and skills.

  • Advance knowledge of ECMAScript features and modern JavaScript frameworks (React, Angular, Ember, …)

  • Significant experience working with web technologies and experience with web standards, including JavaScript, CSS, HTML

  • Knowledge of compiled languages (Java, ...)

  • Driving adoption of industry standards for building user interface including accessibility, internationalization, performance optimization, cross-browser compatibility, caching

  • Deep understanding of frontend architecture and improving build processes (npm, yarn, webpack, parcel)

  • Experience scaling and architecting CSS across multiple projects and products

  • Architecting and promoting a library of reusable components

  • An understanding of unit, integration, and end-to-end testing

  • Familiarity with qualitative and quantitative testing

  • Solid understanding of both design and programming principles

Qualifications

Qualifications - Skills/Knowledge/Abilities to be Successful in this Role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent

  • 5 years experience in software engineering

  • Experience building large Javascript applications using components like Backbonejs, AngularJS, React, etc.

  • Effective communication skills, ability to demonstrate concise and thoughtful correspondence

  • Strong problem solving, analysis, design and testing skills

  • Experience with source code control products (GIT, SVN, Perforce)

  • Work experience in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team

  • Working with and managing design systems

  • Experience or strength in visual and/or interaction design
