As part of the systems health team, you will have a critical role within our technology organization as we transition our corporate architecture to a SOA / SPA and other strategic initiatives. You will design, test and implement core architectural components that are used throughout our applications. The core architecture is used through our application teams to help speed time to market, improve quality and consistency. You will be working closely with the Enterprise Architects to implement architectural components related to front end portals, back end APIs, security and cloud infrastructure.
You will have a leadership role in this capacity. Teams will be looking to you to assist them in learning, troubleshooting and continually improving delivered solutions. As we migrate applications, you will be helping both local teams and off-shore teams develop solutions. Development team leadership / mentoring spans the gamut of launch to continuous delivery of their solutions.
When you are not actively working on the above you are learning and helping assess the next generation of technologies to help fill out our technical radar. Design, develop, maintain core architecture components
Develop best practices and create / maintain a bank of supporting documentation
Train and mentor application teams
Support applications teams with delivering of their applications
Suggest and implement architectural improvements
Be business focused to help deliver both quality and faster time to market
Be able to configure continuous integration
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's Degree computer Science, MIS or equivalent technology discipline although relevant experience will also be taken into consideration in lieu of degree
Minimum of 5 years experience in Java development is required
Experience in Single Page Application (SPA) development (Angular 2 preferred)
Experience with CSS and Bootstrap / responsive design
Experience building and delivery continuous pipeline integration (TeamCity or Jenkins)
Experience with test driven development and delivering a comprehensive test solution in addition to applications or components
Excellent communication skills both written and oral. Ability to present to large group audiences when necessary
Ability to work on a team and solo when necessary
Be comfortable estimating future tasks
Ability to accurately report status and progress on a weekly basis
Full stack experience delivering REST APIs using Spring Boot
SQL Server database usage and best practices using Hibernate and Spring data
(Optional) Experience working on a framework team delivering solutions
(Optional) Experience with message oriented systems (RabbitMQ preferred)
(Optional) Familiarity with Cloud technologies (Azure preferred)
