Reporting Analyst, Reporting Centre of Excellence in Belfast, United Kingdom
Reporting Analyst, Reporting Centre of Excellence:
The Reporting Analyst will form a key part of the reporting centre of excellence. This will involve working with the reporting governance team and application support teams in delivering best in class reporting throughout Pearson.
The Reporting Analyst will be responsible for building, unit testing and supporting reports from the Enterprise ERP systems using mainly the Oracle BI and Hyperion Reporting Toolsets.
The key responsibilities of the will include:
Building reports and dashboards from functional specifications.
Detailed documentation of report testing approvals and quality assurance.
Ensuring reporting Catalog maintenance and standardisation follows the Reporting Governance Model.
Liaising with experienced users to clarify requirements within functional specifications.
Working with the application support team to deliver the enhancements to reporting approved by the reporting governance team.
As a member of the reporting centre of excellence responsible for service management for finance reporting across Pearson.
As a member of the Reporting Centre of Excellence advocate and act as an ambassador for Reporting Centre of Excellence, its processes and solutions to the business.
Providing technical assistance and cross training to other team members.
Maintenance and control of Finance Master Data including Chart of Accounts changes and Cross Validation Rules.
Please note there may be the requirement on occasions to cover USA hours.
Essential Skills /Experience:
Experience of reporting software packages ( Oracle Business Intelligence , Hyperion Reporting, Business Objects, Cognos or similar).
Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (if statements, vlookups, pivot tables etc). Likely to be tested at interview.
Part Qualified Accountant or have experience working in a finance environment.
Proven experience in communicating with a variety of stakeholders.
Proven team player.
Demonstrable track record of problem-solving.
Experience working in a technical data driven environment.
Desirable Skills /Experience:
Computer Sciences or Business Studies related degree.
Knowledge of SQL.
Knowledge of Oracle E-Business Suite , Oracle Business Intelligence, Hyperion or Smartview.
Experience and understanding of business intelligence concepts and database design principles.
Personal Style and Behaviour:
Diligent with a high level of attention to detail.
