The Enabling Programme (TEP) is a major transformation programme working to integrate finance, HR and supply chain data, processes, policy and systems to support the One Pearson vision built upon Oracle eBusiness and Fusion Cloud. Within the Enabling programme The TEP Quality Assurance Manager, owns the QE strategy and execution. this includes:

  • Responsible for developing and implementing standardized testing processes and solutions for end-to-end testing of strategic and transformation projects in support to Testing Center of Excellence (TCoE).

  • Develops and maintains a test governance model in keeping with SDLC practices for Waterfall and Agile projects, based on industry best practices.

  • Manages the workload and assignments of the test team for the project and serves as a testing SME and mentor for junior members.

  • Collaborates with the technical / functional managers and Development and other partners for all automation efforts for the project, in line with our strategy. Evaluates and monitors test process maturity on projects.

  • Leads the development, standardization, and delivery of testing processes, tools, and best practices across multiple projects and development towers, in support of The Enabling Projects

  • Responsible for all project testing activities, from resource estimations to test planning, execution, defect management, reporting, and UAT support in both Waterfall and Agile methodologies.

  • Creates the overall Test Plan for the project and leads test planning activities and deliverable.

  • Evaluates and monitors process adherence, tool adoption and usage, and champions automation activities as an integral part of the testing life cycle.

  • Defines and ensures all types of testing needed for the project are scoped, resourced, managed, and completed on time with superior quality, in accordance with the standards and practices.

  • Runs the defect triage meetings, reports on defect metrics, and leads test readiness reviews.

  • Provides UAT support to our Business partners ensuring Pearson standards are maintained.

  • Creates the final Test Summary Report at the conclusion of all testing and signs-off on the release, prior to production deployment, in collaboration with our development and business partners.

  • Defines and tracks test metrics and conducts root cause analysis for continuous improvement.

  • Participates in automation assessment, scope definition, resource alignment, and development activities in support of automation initiatives throughout the life of the project or product.

  • Coaches and mentors junior test analysts on testing skills and best practices. Advocates and takes ownership of quality at the project level



  • 15 years of hands-on testing experience, both in waterfall and agile methodologies, with 5 years in a test management or process architect role.

  • Good hands-on experience testing applications of increasing complexity, preferably on Oracle, Ecom, PDH, Salesforce with a back-end.

  • Require solid experience with one or more tools like Microfocus Quality Center or ALM, Rational Test Manager, Zephyr, JIRA, or AzureDevOps & others.

  • Expert level knowledge of test process definition and governance, including metrics and reporting.

  • Strong API testing experience for both SOAP and REST services, using tools like Soap-UI Pro and good working knowledge on JSON.

  • Good working knowledge of Cloud-based technologies and DevOps CI/CD practices using one or more tools like Azure DevOps, AWS etc.

  • Strong vendor management experience, especially managing onsite and offshore vendor resources.

  • Good working knowledge of test data management practices and designing and maintaining test data for all types of testing.

  • Strong knowledge of Waterfall and Agile testing processes and methodologies.

  • Strong metrics analysis and reporting skills, including dashboard creation and maintenance.

  • Must be a champion and advocate of quality processes and practices.

  • Must have hands-on prior experience managing end-to-end testing on large, strategic projects.

  • Must have strong testing experience and be willing to mentor and develop a high-performing test team to meet project needs.

  • Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Must have a “can do” attitude to drive change as part of strategic projects.

  • Must be collaborative and a team player. Must take ownership and accountability.
