Pearson Lead Performance Engineer in Bangalore, India

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Working closely with different teams like Product Management, Development, QA, Solution teams to create good Non-Functional Requirements for the product and aligning the Performance Engineering teams goal and testing accordingly.

  • Flag down potential performance issues and provide technical assistance and advice to ensure smooth system performance in the development stage.

  • Involved in designing, developing and Performance test plans for scenarios including scalability, benchmarking, and performance for Web based modules, Microservice’s and Mobile applications etc,.

  • Hands-on experience in resolving Technical Issues.

  • Hands-on experience analyzing reports and documenting observations to identify bottlenecks

  • Investigates & reports project issues by communicating & working with various departments including Development, Product, Project Management, Systems & Application support groups, Network Engineering, etc., as well as other project teams

  • Using workload information and performance results to identify and understand performance bottlenecks and provide tuning recommendations

  • Create tools and Utilities to automate key processes.

  • Develop possible solution themselves and on situations work closely with Product Engineering team members and provide updates to stakeholders

  • Prepare weekly reports summarizing Reported cases, troubleshooting guides etc

  • Suggest overall product improvements including new enhancements.

  • Helping junior team members in their scripting and test scenario designing

  • Strong technical knowledge of a typical technology stack integrating frameworks to deliver testing services from frontend to backend. (Web and API testing).

  • Ability to identify, monitor and troubleshoot performance issues at all levels including operating system, component, database, network.

  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills demonstrated by the ability to assimilate new information, understand complex topics, and arrive at meaningful and accurate conclusions.

  • Perform detail analysis and report any Service level performance deviation

  • Co-ordinate with key stake holders for review and approval of performance test reports

  • Provide accurate and timely status reports and project metrics to various levels of stakeholders and as agreed by the project and QA leadership team.

  • Track all testing Risks/Issues/Dependencies/Assumptions from beginning of the project till closure and Highlight before hand to Programme and Project.

Technical Experience: 

  • Knowledge of Performance Testing Processes and Strategies.

  • Exposure in Site-Reliability and Observability implementations

  • Strong understanding of performance testing methodologies best practices.

  • Must have recent experience working in an environment focused on Agile software development, DevOps, and CI/CD pipeline methodologies

  • Experienced in identifying Performance testing scope through explicit and implicit test requirements.

  • Able to Interface effectively with business and technical stakeholders for requirements and design clarifications

  • Experience in Assessing the performance testing strategy based on non functional requirements(NFRs).

  • Strong skills with Load Runner/Jmeter required script creation for Web, Web services, Microservices etc. protocols (as applicable) to emulate the application.

  • Experience in both Client side, Server side, Monitoring and profiling tools using OS resources Perfmon/NMON , HP SiteScope, JVisualVm, and NewRelic.

  • Thorough understanding of API Architecture and Impact of Various Component on PT.

  • Should have Excellent experience in Log Analysis.

  • Should possess strong understanding of E2E PT and Response time breakup of all Downstream systems.

  • Should have good understanding of Databases (MS SQL, Oracle, Mongo DB2 ) and impact of various DB concepts on PT.

  • Should have strong understanding of Cloud Infrastructure like AWS, Google Cloud ,OpenShift.

  • Knowledge of any programming Language like Java, Python or C# will be an added advantage.
