Pearson Unbundled Learning Services is a new team within our APAC University Partnerships (UP) Division. This team will be responsible for leading the activities driving our custom learning offerings for clients across the APAC region.

We have a 12 month fixed-term contract opportunity for a Quality Assurance Editor/Reviewer as part of the new Custom Learning team within Pearson Unbundled Services. This role will be responsible for conducting the complete editorial review and edit of digital resources, created for assigned client projects, to the standard required. They will also act as a final editorial and WCAG accessibility review point for the digital resources created, including those created by third-party suppliers and vendors.

Applying their highly-developed editorial skills and knowledge, this role will work to customise quality assurance related processes, templates and tools for each client and project, and ensure that these are consistently applied throughout each client project.

This will include:

  • Creating and maintaining customised digital learning editorial standards, style and accessibility requirements for each project

  • Reviewing all assets against WCAG accessibility requirements and online learning quality standards

  • Creating transcripts/captioning for audio/video files, writing alt text descriptor for visuals

  • Conducting final online reviews and addressing any errors prior to client handover

  • Working closely with Learning Designers and Multimedia specialists to advise on quality standards for online educational applications, interactivities and simulations.


  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience editing online and/or blended learning courses presented in English (AU or UK) in the post-compulsory education sector.

  • An undergraduate qualification in English, Literature, Communication, Journalism, Editing or equivalent

  • Working knowledge of Universal Design for Learning

  • Knowledge of language usage conventions, WCAG requirements and other notable philosophies, strategies and theories regarding accessibility, readability and usability; and the ability to apply those concepts to online or blended learning assets and objects.

  • Ability to work on complex projects within (sometimes aggressive) time frames, to multi-task & continually prioritise changing project tasks/deliverables and meet deadlines.

  • Knowledge of and experience with at least one of the common academic Learning Management Systems (Moodle, Brightspace, Blackboard and/or Canvas).

  • Familiarity with relevant computer programs and course delivery platforms including intermediate-advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
