The Operations team are seeking to appoint a Facilities Service Assistant to join Pearson on a 12 month contract working 5 hours each day from Monday to Friday.

The role is responsible for helping the Facilities Services Administrator with related items such as; building security, general building maintenance, update of various Facilities registers, including environmental reporting and liaison with incoming contractors engaged by Pearson and building landlords. Reception relief will also be required during staff absences.

Key responsibilities will include;

  • Work with Facilities Services Administrator to ensure the Collins Street building is functioning efficiently

  • Upkeep of kitchen and reheat areas

  • Assist Facilities Services Administrator with ordering supplies

  • Assistance with set up of meeting rooms

  • Ensure Pearson Security System is kept up to date including new starters and terminations


  • Ability to make external and internal customers and their needs a primary focus of one’s actions.

  • Facilities experience

  • Experience in technology such as Microsoft Suite

  • Ability to accurately and carefully follow established procedures for completing work tasks.

  • Contributing to Team Success. Informs others on team and shares important or relevant information with the team.

  • Effectively managing one’s time and resources to ensure that work is completed efficiently.

  • Ability to clearly convey information and ideas through a variety of media to individuals or groups in a manner that engages the audience and helps them understand and retain the message.
