Manager, Sales Finance (Clinical Assessments)

Responsible for leading all activities related to Sales Finance for the Clinical Finance team and providing financial support to the VP, Clinical Global Sales, and the leadership team. The responsibility of this Clinical Assessment finance role is to manage financial sales expectations and opportunities in conjunction with market trends, customer needs, and in line with profit and growth targets. This includes monitoring pricing and promotion approvals, engaging in solution sales price modeling, and leading strategic opportunity financial reviews. This Clinical Finance Manager role is responsible for acting as Business Partner driving strategy, planning and overall financial performance. This position will partner with Clinical Assessments leadership to understand the current dynamics in relevant parts of the company portfolio, compare to market trends and optimize investment opportunities.

Directly responsible for a revenue base of approx. $250M representing the Clinical revenue from North America and India and an indirect responsibility for overseeing Core and Growth sales over $50M.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategy & Resource Planning

  • Serves as the lead finance business partner and cooperates with, as well as advises, Sales management and business leadership in support of strategic business decisions and operational performance trends.

  • Takes responsibility for defining, tracking, and reporting on appropriate metrics to measure performance against strategic initiatives and to identify emerging trends.

  • Applies a strategic planning approach, identifying tools, techniques and practices that are business enablers and enhance improvements in cost/performance or sustainability.

Planning, Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Lead the annual operating plan and quarterly forecasting processes for sales and revenue ensuring targets are met and in alignment with short-term and long-term strategic goals.

  • Establishes and ensures effective and consistent modelling, planning, and forecasting processes for sales and revenue, identifies, and implements best practices in these processes.

  • Partner with the Sales Operations team to ensure commissions are in alignment with annual operating plan and forecasts as well as oversee month-end accounting for commission expense accruals.

Financial Analysis

  • Reviews outputs of financial results and forecasts to develop views and actions to guide management, resolves significant reporting variances or recommends corrective actions where needed.

  • Develops and applies financial analysis to identify the business, commercial and financial impact on the organization of different courses of action; advises on actions or options to improve the modelled outcome.

  • Partner with Sales and Marketing leaders regarding financial implications of promotional and commercial activities. Develop reporting to measure financial performance on these strategic initiatives.

Qualifications

Required Experience

Prefer experience using Hyperion, Oracle, Alteryx, Tableau, and Salesforce

Experience supporting Sales organizations

Analytical, financial modelling and reporting experience
