Description

The Manager, Business Developmentwill provide sales enablement, field marketing, sales forecasting andoperational support to the Business Development team, as well as serving as acritical liaison between the Business Development team and other support teamswithin Pearson.

* Responsibilities: *

  • Coordinateand lead the sales forecasting process: manage Salesforce.com reporting, coordinate and lead bi-weekly forecastreview meetings, ensure sales team compliance with forecasting and dealmanagement tracking

  • Manage logistics and help lead allsales team functions: team meetings(face to face and virtual), training events, National Sales Meeting, etc.

  • Coordinate and manage the on-boarding andinitial training of all new sales team hires: develop training plan, coordinate meetings with functional groups,schedule field meetings with reps.

  • Manage RFP / RFI response process for OnlineLearning Services

  • Keep all appropriate documents, files, listsand sales support information up-to-date

  • Manage the quarterly incentive compensationreview with the VP of Business Development, Human Resources and Finance

  • Support the deal approval process andcoordinate with Finance and Operations: analysis, documentation,

  • Support the development of key customer salespresentations: collect research data,analyze research data, summarize into a client presentation, think through andrecommend the best way to present complex information and value proposition,customize standard presentations for client meetings

  • Support the analysis and launch of newsolutions: help develop Go To Marketplans with Marketing and Operations

  • Analyze and evaluate the effectiveness ofsales, methods, costs, and results.

  • Work with internal partners tohelp support Online Program Management (OPM) brand
messaging through events(conferences and sponsorships), as well as any other joint marketingactivities.

Qualifications

* Qualifications : *

  • 4-year degree from an accredited institution inBusiness, Sales, or related field - OR appropriate combination of education andsignificant experience

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience insales enablement and sales operations with a successful and demonstrable trackrecord.

  • Experience with:

    o Supporting solution sales teams -selling solutions vs. products

    o Sales forecasting – ideally usingSalesforce.com CRM

    o Developing solicitation strategiesand writing effective proposals

    o Working independently and on manyactivities concurrently

  • Expert knowledge of Excel, financialmodeling, Power Point and otherpresentation solutions

  • Ability to analyze complex data,pull out pertinent data and summarize key points for presentations

  • A high degree of personalaccountability and integrity with a hands-on, detail-oriented mindset.

  • Ability to communicateeffectively; establish cooperative working relationships both internally andexternally

  • Outstanding interpersonal, writtencommunication and strong/succinct oral communication skills essential

  • Ability to travel up to 20% of thetime
