High Level Responsibilities
TheContent Producer is the key owner and liaison through all functional areas ofproject management from content planning through customer acceptance andarchive.
Managethe execution of content development and production plans for Science textbooksand ebooks to deliver high quality, commercially successful print and digitalproject families on time and within budget.
Managemultiple vendors and subject matter experts, providing feedback as necessary.
Communicateproject status and dependencies to appropriate team members, including ManagingProducer.
Work withother parts of the organization as necessary to ensure support in attainingoutput, quality and productivity
Ensurethat appropriate content structure, enrichment standards, and other compliancestandards, e.g. accessibility are applied throughout the content developmentand production process.
Useweb-based tools for project tracking.
Highlyorganized and detail-oriented.
Able tomanage multiple projects simultaneously.
Able towork across teams as necessary to ensure support in attaining product outputand quality as well as overall productivity
2-4 yearsof project management experience
Strongcomputer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity withAcrobat, Editorial and Indexing programs, Illustrator, Photoshop
Experiencewith Acrobat Pro and XML a plus; excellent organizational and communicationsskills
Publishingbackground strongly preferred
Experienceworking with onshore and offshore vendors a significant plus
Experiencewith transition from print to digital publishing a significant plus
Strongpreference will be given to candidates with experience working in an"evergreen" publishing model, and with scrum and agile methodologies
Strong preference will be given to candidateswith experience/understanding of HTML5 and CSS coding
